Château Gâteaux Menlyn Park — Local services in Gauteng

I frequently visit Chateau Gateaux after my shifts at Menlyn to grab a cup of coffee. What attracted me to the place is the rewards programme they have: so you have to download the Chateau Gateaux app from the Google Play Android App Store and then for every hot drink you buy you earn one point. When you have reached 10 points then you receive a free hot drink and slice of cake of your choice at your next visit.

I had the Caramel Velvet and White Chocolate hot beverage. They were delicious! High quality! I want to go back and earn more points. I hope you do so too!

Fast forward to 2022, what attracts to CG is still the rewards programme where you can qualify for a free hot beverage or cake (slice). I had the Mozart this time withe the Chococcino.

(Update on 21 June 2022) The interior look and feel of the business has changed. They gave it a face lift. Now and then you might still sit at a table that wobbles, which is a defect because you might spill your coffee, which happened to me unfortunately. It looks beautiful inside and outside. But the prices of their basic Americano has gone up unfortunately. It still looks and tastes delicious and I am attracted by the rewards programme. Staff have the worst customer service. They dont treat customers the same. They make allowances for some customers and not for others. In our case they cut the medium boxed cake for a family in front of us, when we requested the same service we were told its not allowed. Staff ended up fighting among themselves because Phumlani who was doing the cutting, refused to offer the same service to us that was offeted to the other customers. Things got very loud in the store. Very disrespectful and arrogant. We left without buying and deleted the App....

My favourite cake place. The variety available is stunning. There are slight like one or two differences between branches. Sometimes one is available at Brooklyn branch but not at menlyn etc. The service is pretty good. Staff is friendly and Wi-Fi available for 30 minutes. The cakes... nothing that I can comment on. Your enjoyment depends on your taste and each product is different. I loved every one I tasted although some are too sweet for me. Compliments to the Mozart cake though. That is one amazing cake....
