Wimpy — Restaurant in Gauteng

Our family loves Wimpy. Wimpy burgers and Wimpy breakfast. Unfortunately it has become expensive (as everything has) and we do not get to frequent it as much as we would like to. On Sunday, we decided to treat ourselves while shopping at Menlyn. Our waiter was friendly and gave us menus as we sat down, but then disappeared without taking drinks orders. He only returned after 10minutes, when we placed our food and drink orders together. He did not write anything down. We ordered 5 meals and only one was correct from the start. My 2 kids ordered breakfasts and requested fried eggs - they received scrambled eggs. My aunt requested a fried egg - on a separate plate - she received scrambled egg on the same plate - she requested them to correct it, it came back with scrambled eggs on a separate plate, she asked them to take it back and cancel her order. I ordered a wimpy burger - the patty and chips were ice cold - i requested that they please warm it up - i received a plate that had clearly just been put in the microwave - bun was now hot and hard, cheese was melted and it just all looked unpleasant - i also sent it back and requested them to just cancel my order. None of this is life changing or world ending. People have bigger problems, i get that. But when you are spending your hard earned money to "treat" yourself to a meal at a restaurant, you...

I was very disappointed as it was my first time at Wimpy Menlyn after lockdown. I ordered coffee waiting too long and it was served cold. I asked for hot milk to warm it up but unfortunately the milk also was not hot and I decided not to drink but paid for it. The waiter asked to make me another cup but I lost my appetite for it. As I was sitting there I saw customers left there tables and new customers came in......I was so upset the waiters did not sanitize or even wipe the tables only take away the sauces. There was only a few customers in the restaurant while about five waiters standing around but did not clean and sanitize the tables before the next customers be seated. I asked the waiter to sanitize and clean the table before putting my food on the table. It was a very bad decision to eat at Wimpy Menlyn and I will never go back...

Location: Wimpy Menlyn Shopping Centre. Last week Sunday (28/01/2024), I took my little brother for an afternoon lunch. When entering we had to wait a little bit before being seen by a waiter, I think because the staff were few, as it was a Sunday. However it was not a train-smash. Afterwards we were greeted by a nice gentleman(I'm sorry I forgot his name), whom gave us the most beautiful experience. He knew when to come to check on us and when it was required. We ordered food and it was fresh, clean, presentable and very good. I just wish Wimpy would do a menu which includes normal drinks instead of buying separate. We were further joined by my cousin and ordered drinks and milkshake. The restaurant environment had few people (how I like it) and it was clean....
