I recently visited Arapaho Spur on December 23, 2023, with high expectations of enjoying a delightful meal. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment left much to be desired.
From the outset, our encounter with the staff set a disappointing tone. The server who assisted us failed to write down our order, leading to a prolonged wait for our meals. The frustration only escalated when our food finally arrived, only to discover that it was served cold, as if it had just been taken from the refrigerator.
To compound matters, when it came time to settle the bill, we were informed that our order had been combined with another table's, and we were requested to calculate the cost of our own meal. This unexpected inconvenience was not only frustrating but also unprofessional, leaving us perplexed and dissatisfied.
Furthermore, the lack of a proper receipt for our card payment added to the overall sense of disorganization. A receipt is not only a basic expectation but also an essential record for customers, especially when discrepancies arise. Unfortunately, this oversight left us without the necessary documentation for our transaction.
The quality of the food was another letdown. The cold temperature detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dishes, and the experience was marred by subpar meal quality.
In summary, my visit to Arapaho Spur on December 23, 2023, was marked by poor service, cold food, and an unacceptable level of inconvenience during the payment process. Read moreNtombi (the manager)eventually came to take over the table. I did not get the waitresss name. We ordered 3 meals: a fillet and chips, the big 3 and a kids combo. My son's chips arrived after 20minutes, we requested that his burger be put in a takeaway box.
My husband and I's food came more than 40 minutes later! And to our disappointment after such a long wait, my husband's steak was stone cold. My husband requested the waitress to return it to the kitchen. The steak was returned, for us to discover when my husband cut it in the middle that it is medium rare and not medium well.
We then called Ntombi, who apologised and took the steak back to the kitchen for it to be cooked further. This was an extremely unpleasant experience my family and I. A second one in less than a few months from Arapho Spur. I was not given a bones plate, wipes and finger dip water for my ribs. I am not sure whether the waitress expected me to place my bones on my plate of food?
Was I expected to wipe my sticky fingers with my clothes. We were offered a waffle for the horrid experience. This unfortunately does not cut it, as it feels like we need to expect and get sub-standard service and food from Arapaho Spur.
