I recently visited Arapaho Spur on December 23, 2023, with high expectations of enjoying a delightful meal. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment left much to be desired.

From the outset, our encounter with the staff set a disappointing tone. The server who assisted us failed to write down our order, leading to a prolonged wait for our meals. The frustration only escalated when our food finally arrived, only to discover that it was served cold, as if it had just been taken from the refrigerator.

To compound matters, when it came time to settle the bill, we were informed that our order had been combined with another table's, and we were requested to calculate the cost of our own meal. This unexpected inconvenience was not only frustrating but also unprofessional, leaving us perplexed and dissatisfied.

Furthermore, the lack of a proper receipt for our card payment added to the overall sense of disorganization. A receipt is not only a basic expectation but also an essential record for customers, especially when discrepancies arise. Unfortunately, this oversight left us without the necessary documentation for our transaction.

The quality of the food was another letdown. The cold temperature detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dishes, and the experience was marred by subpar meal quality.

In summary, my visit to Arapaho Spur on December 23, 2023, was marked by poor service, cold food, and an unacceptable level of inconvenience during the payment process. Ntombi (the manager)eventually came to take over the table. I did not get the waitresss name. We ordered 3 meals: a fillet and chips, the big 3 and a kids combo. My son's chips arrived after 20minutes, we requested that his burger be put in a takeaway box.

My husband and I's food came more than 40 minutes later! And to our disappointment after such a long wait, my husband's steak was stone cold. My husband requested the waitress to return it to the kitchen. The steak was returned, for us to discover when my husband cut it in the middle that it is medium rare and not medium well.

We then called Ntombi, who apologised and took the steak back to the kitchen for it to be cooked further. This was an extremely unpleasant experience my family and I. A second one in less than a few months from Arapho Spur. I was not given a bones plate, wipes and finger dip water for my ribs. I am not sure whether the waitress expected me to place my bones on my plate of food?

Was I expected to wipe my sticky fingers with my clothes. We were offered a waffle for the horrid experience. This unfortunately does not cut it, as it feels like we need to expect and get sub-standard service and food from Arapaho Spur.

I know it was month end weekend, but surely the kitchen staff and the waitrons should be well trained to handle peak times. We would have left but we had already been waiting so long for our food, and it was a Sunday afternoon/evening, we need to go home and get ready for work and...

Today me and my family decided to go eat at spur, when we came into the restaurant, we were not even greeted and had to stay standing there awkwardly for 20 minutes standing, after one of our family members had to go looking for a worker to help us, when we got seeded the lady who helped us with very irritated for some reason, she gave us harsh attitude, and was chewing gum rapidly, he threw down the menu on our table harshly, we waited 30 minutes until she came back to take our order, at that point we were starving, after we placed our order, I swear the food took about one hour and a half to get to us, there was only three people in at my table, The food was alright but we found hair in it and it was ice cold and the food that we ordered was half raw, we couldn’t finish our meal, we got the check, and I swear the lady added so many unnecessarily things on the bill, we had to pay R800 for only three people, and the tip that she wanted was too much for her bad service, please talk to your workers, when one of the people sitting at my table wanted to order something when the waiter said harshly, “ can you please hurry up” , I hope you can talk to your workers, thank you...
