Just stares, no welcoming and greetings at 12h23 Sunday 05/Mar. Couldn’t go inside yet, as the floor was filthy, albeit sweeping works had commenced but mini piles of filth left the gathered against a pillar and next to tables/chairs. I sat outside for 6min before someone came to attend to me, had less than 10patrons in-house. The table adjacent mine had leftover (crockery and all) from the previous patron. Also alerted the waitress attending to me and she left it there still (clutching menus), oh well. She cleared it much this later Went back to peek into the main restaurant, it was still filthy still, shamefully. Manager, Blessing, came up but wasn’t interested to listen and resolve, although he begged me not to post this review. If only he didn’t make excuses: “we were very busy”. Team eventually finished sweeping works, after I offered to sweep and help out myself. I was blessed to learn from an maintenance engineering 7 course from many moons ago, that a dirty floor means a poorly run operation/plant/office. And sure this is poorly run, unfortunately
I didn't bother ordering food but my company who came in later ordered a light meal. Manager offered to waive my drink from the bill, but I insisted bill be reprinted and I was blessed to pay in full. Still this coffee shop doesn’t have any muffins (from my last 4-5visits since 2020), they run out here, so why have them on the menu offering still?!
Even after speaking to Management, Blessing, service was poor although he tried to make a mark... Come on, I should have gone to the taxi rank rather. At least I would have enjoyed myself and connected with the service providers (people), despite the conditions!
I am blessed to be able to meet future company/guests at home, and get what I deserve for almost free: cleanliness, warmth, smiles, friendliness, peace, comfort, safety et all.
I am up for excellence, service, friendliness, efficiency, cleanliness, and this establishment is not up for it - sadly!
Bless you as you improve in staff training, change culture, keep up to known healthy and safety standards & procedures, and imbibing the values of hospitality, quality etc.
Trust me, a winning culture is more valuable than the Rands received - at this seemingly very profitable establishment.
I forgive you and bless...
Read moreOn Friday, 26th August, 2022 @ around 10h00 my friend from KZN and I (from Gauteng) decided to have Breakfast at the Halaal Bootlegger in Seapoint, Cape Town. Being a Muslim this Venue appealed to me and it was also close to our Bantry Bay Timeshare Unit. Firstly, we waited at the Entrance for quite a while before we were acknowledged and shown to a table. We waited forever for Menu's and it took just as long to serve the Tea and Coffee that we ordered upon entering. Eventually, our orders were taken but the 'lethargic' Waitress got it all wrong. I asked for two Eggs turned over and I got Scrambled Eggs instead. The Cherry Tomatoes and the Mushrooms, left much to be desired. Half were raw and the other half were scorched to a cinder. The Sausage was scored and bitter. The cold Sourdough Toast was rock hard.My friends Toasted Cheese Sandwich was two slices of unevenly toasted bread with some gooey melted cheese flowing out of the bread. I asked for some Butter for my toast and requests to two waitresses later the butter was served and my toast was already ice-cold by then. The Sugar and Sweetner on the table was minimal and we had to request more, only to be greeted with a 'grunt'. As our Parking Meter limit was fast approaching we requested our Bill. Same story, it took ages to be presented for payment. One could have understood the slow service if the Restaurant was full, but besides the two of us there were no more than another four patrons. In conclusion, we will not be visiting a Bootlegger Restaurant...
Read moreBusy gem of a coffee shop or should i say restaurant as it is more than just a coffee shop. It has great coffee, with wide variety of hot drinks, fresh juices, cold drinks but best of all a variety of food items to enjoy. From typical South African favorites such as egg benedict (which was yummy), sausage and eggs (however you want it i.e. scrambled, sunny side up, poached), to smoothies, wraps, burger options and many other interesting meals. Checkout the online menu. I was super impressed with this Seapoint/ Three Achor Bay venue as it was fully halaal and we could enjoy any meal off the menu. The meals were very good portions and very tasty too. We had the eggs benedict meal with added beef sausage and another egg meal, the Omega Smash (poached eggs, smashed avo, salmon trout, olive infused dressing on a nice sourdough bread). We very much enjoyed the meals and i specifically loved my huge mug off bootlegger coffee (complimented my meal nicely). Quick note, seemed busy in the morning and we had to queue, but it was manageable and well worth the wait. Would highly recommend. Reasonable prices, good portions, great tasting meals and a...
