Nando's Oceans Mall — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

I never write reviews on Google, but I felt like I really needed to for the food and health safety of others. DO NOT eat at this location, the food safety is highly questionable. I am pregnant and ordered Uber eats from Nandos Oceans Mall. Firstly, the food was over an hour late after being prepared, and I had an Uber driver cancel the pick up because they made him wait so long for the food at the location. We called through twice to enquire about what was going on and both times we were told that the food is on its way. When it finally arrived 90 minutes later, the chicken in the burgers were off!!!! It smelt like off chicken and tasted really bad. I then called the location and spoke to the Manager, Za, who told me to drop off the food, and I explained to her that I am pregnant and unable to do so but I happy to get the chicken out of the bin for them to pick up and confirm if the meat was off or not. To which she replied that she has no drivers to pick it up and there’s nothing she can do about this situation. The methodology to resolve this situation is non-existent and not even taken as a serious concern so I would highly advise others to go to another location when you feel like eating Nandos. I frequently order from this Nando’s with no issues, but yesterday’s experience was unacceptable.

I ordered a ¼ chicken and chips (mild, extra basting), a hot wrap (no mayo, no salad), and a full portion of chicken livers (cut small). Upon pickup, my boyfriend was told they needed more time to sort out the livers.

At home, I found my wrap poorly made with almost no sauce, and the packaging was dirty. I returned to the store and spoke to the manager on duty, MLU, who was dismissive and arrogant. Instead of addressing the issue, he insisted the sauce had leaked, despite clear external dirt. When I pointed this out, he sarcastically asked if I was accusing them of using old packaging. He then told me to “go write a review” instead of resolving the problem.

Eventually, they replaced the wrap, and the new one had sauce and clean packaging, proving their excuse about leakage was false. Additionally, the serviettes in the order were dirty, and the livers were not cut small as requested.

Managers need to understand they are dealing with food, and complaints about food should be taken seriously—not just ensuring customers pay and leave. This was not just a bad service day—the manager’s attitude was unacceptable. I expect accountability and would like to escalate this to...

I usually don't rate fast food restaurants highly, but my experience at Nando's Oceans Mall deserves special mention. Consistently, this branch delivers a solid 4, even pushing towards 4.5 in my book.

The restaurant is always clean, and the staff is friendly, even during busy times. They ensure you're attended to promptly. The food quality is top-notch; every time I've dined here, the ingredients are fresh, and the meals are fantastic. It's a pleasure to keep coming back to this particular branch, especially when compared to others, which don't quite measure up.

The location itself adds to the experience, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy a meal. However, the one downside is the neighboring club, Brown Sugar. If you're planning to dine after 7 PM, be prepared for the heavy bass from their subwoofers, which can be quite disruptive if you're looking for a quiet evening.
