The place is beautiful. I fell in love with the aesthetics and the decoration. As you enter the restaurant you see a chill area right next to the bar. This area is decorated with a book shelf, a fire place and very comfortable chairs. Then you walk through to the dining area which is as equally beautiful.
I went to celebrate my farewell there with my friends and absolutely loved the place. The bread they serves was warm and fluffy and their mixture of garlic, oil and balsamic vinegar topping went well with the bread.
As a foodie who love to experiment new things I ordered a Elderflower Forest Press. The drink looked pretty but it was a little too bitter for my liking. I had to ask for sugar so I could actually finish the drink. The waiter was so kind to bring sugar syrup that is usually put on the cocktails. It made the drink more bearable. My friend ordered a Mojito and she enjoyed it.
For the grub we all went for pasta. My one friend ordered the spinach ricotta ravioli which was absolutely delicious. The only disappointment was that the portion was too small. She took like two bites and it was finished. My other friend ordered the rigatoni and that was mouth watering she added some garlic and chili's to it and it just elevated the flavour of the beef Ragu even more. I ordered a chicken pesto tagliatelle. The portion was okay, for my palate I felt that it lacked in flavour. I had to add some garlic and chili's as well just to give it some flavor.
As it was a farewell and I love desserts we ordered a serving of the dulce de leches fondant. Again way too bitter for my liking so I let my friends finish. They enjoyed it. They said it had a good balance of bitterness from the chocolate and the sweetness from the caramel. Personally I like my desserts a little more on the sweet side.
We didn't wait too long for the food and drink to come which is always a plus for me. If I am hungry I don't want to wait 30+ minutes for my food. The prices are fair compared to other restaurants serving the same thing. The service was great and the atmosphere was uplifting.
This place is child-friendly so you can plan your next family meal there. I would love to go back and taste other things...
Read moreA delightful culinary experience!
On this trip, I had the pleasure of dining at your establishment, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening. Your dedication to excellence in both food and service truly shone through.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the spaghetti aglio olio and the sirloin steak, both of which were crafted to perfection. The spaghetti aglio olio was a masterpiece of simplicity, with perfectly cooked pasta, a delicate balance of garlic and olive oil, and just the right touch of seasoning to elevate the dish. It was a reminder of how powerful a well-executed classic can be. The sirloin steak, on the other hand, was a carnivore's dream – tender, juicy, and cooked exactly as requested. The flavors were robust yet refined, leaving a lasting impression that I will savor for a long time.
What truly set the experience apart was the exceptional service. Michelle, you were an absolute star! From the moment we walked in, your warmth and professionalism made us feel valued and welcome. Despite a busy evening, you went above and beyond to find us a table and seamlessly accommodated us into the bustling dining room. Your attentiveness and genuine care did not go unnoticed and greatly enhanced the overall experience. Thank you for your efforts and for ensuring that every detail of our evening was flawless.
It is rare to find a restaurant that excels in both food and hospitality, and you have certainly achieved that balance with grace and style. This visit will not only be remembered for the exquisite meal but also for the way it made us feel – appreciated, relaxed, and truly satisfied.
I will undoubtedly return to relive this remarkable experience. Thank you once again for a memorable evening. Keep up the fantastic work, and I look forward to visiting you on...
Read moreThis place was a little bit of a let down for our first night in Cape Town. We came here for Christmas dinner with high hopes because of the reviews. We got to the restaurant an hour before our reservation and they let us know that they didn’t have space to seat us, but we could sit in the lounge area. We did notice there were several empty tables, but figured people must have reservations. We asked if we could order some drinks and appetizers in the lounge area and we were told by multiple people another person will come and take our order. It took 45 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order and by that time we just decided we will order appetizers once we are seated. The service just continue to be lacklustre after that. They sat us at the worst table right by the entrance and we asked if we could be seated elsewhere because there were several empty tables. Again we were told that those tables are reserved based on the flow of who may or may not walk In and their reservations. The service felt like a restaurant soft lunch, like they just opened the restaurant and they’re still learning their flow and learning how to work together. Everyone was polite but not hospitable. It also seemed like people were afraid to make decisions. I asked a waiter walking by for a side sauce to come with my fries and I saw this waiter asked two different people if they could punch in a sauce to come to our table. By the time the sauce came, we were halfway through our meal. Overall, the food wasn’t memorable enough and the service wasn’t good enough for me to return. We had the salt and pepper squid, butter basted prawns, ultimate caprese and steak. We found the steak and shrimp salty. The caprese was underwhelming . However, the coconut Collin’s was an amazing drink. I would definitely recommend it if you like something fruity and strong. The calamari was...
