Platō Coffee - Hermanus — Restaurant in Overstrand Local Municipality

As a coffee enthusiast I always like hunting for new coffee spots. This time around I tried Platō Coffee in Hermanus and they didn't disappoint. We visited early morning and they were already busy showing how popular they are. They have a good selection of different coffee styles to choose from. I opted for the Koleha, which was strong and really hit the spot, while my friend went for the Plato. For the kids we got some Watermelon Freezos which they really enjoyed. If you are looking to grab something to eat while at Platō they do have some fresh pastries like croissants available. Although the coffee shop itself is quite small, they do have both indoor and outdoor seating if you decide not to take a coffee on the go. What a delightful coffee shop! This is the best coffee I've had in Hermanus. The menu is incredible - I am a big traditionalist on coffee and this is the first time I have really had to deliberate if I should get something else instead of my usual espresso macchiato. Staff are super friendly and very skilled at making a great coffee. Micro foam was perfect and the artwork on the coffee was beautiful. I will definitely be going back to try some of the other options on the very extensive menu. I tried the Aristotle and hugely recommend it. The location is perfect for picking up a takeaway coffee to enjoy next to the ocean; there is seating available at Plato, but as you're in the middle of town the noise from traffic outside is perhaps a little less enjoyable. We first discovered Plato a few days earlier in another town on our garden rout tour. I was so excited to see that I would get the opportunity to enjoy more of their carefully crafted coffee during our next stop for 2 nights. The same great coffee was served with the little notes in the cup however there was just something slightly different than my other experience elsewhere. It could be that they had only just opened and there was a bit of a queue, just missed that little customer to staff interaction.
