Went here for dinner with my family. Booked during the day in person and arrived to a friendly staff welcome.
Now if you are into wine then this is the place for you. The menu is very centered around wine and you are also Aable to purchase a range of wine at ‘cellar door’ prices as there is a shop inside the restaurant.
The food was good, but not great. Starters felt a little basic but our main meals were all very good. We had Hake and Chips, seafood pasta and Lamb shoulder. All the food was well cooked and tasted great. Deserts ordered were Apple Crumble and Chocolate torte and they too tasted really nice. Personally I have been trying various restaurants Apple Crumble and although this was not as good as Sonny and Irene’s, it comes a close second.
Service was good and the venue itself was nicely decorated. The lack of ambience I put down to the place being quite empty. It was a Sunday evening after all.

Read moreWent on Saturday morning for an early breakfast with folks from out of town. Lovely setting, despite the staff still cleaning when we walked in. They open at 8am so I expected them to be ready for their first guests by then. Lovely and quiet, and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Food was good. Service was a bit slow though and waitress didn't come to check on us through the meal so had to wait till we were done to order water and more coffees. In these touch times restaurants need to be on their game and fight to stay open. Maybe it was just an off day for them, but they would need to jack up their service big time if they want to stay ahead. Oh, and I didn't appreciate one of the staff members being on their phone talking (in the only ladies loo available) and then giving me a dirty look when she walked out because I tried the door while she...
