Being from out of town on holiday, I went on reviews when booking our table here. Very dissdisappointed with the service we received. Our waiter Patience seemed confused from the beginning bringing incorrect drinks and missing drinks. Which we over looked.
Two of us from seven ordered the fillet steak which it says comes with rissoto. Above the meals it states that the meal also comes with a side. To which we confirmed with the waiter who agreed. When the meal came it was missing the rissoto. When we queried it she took the meal away equally surprised only to say that it is either the rissoto or veggies to which we both asked for rissoto. The rissoto then came with the steaks 5 min later. It was undercooked and crunchy.
The steak was also dry and lacked flavour. There was no sauce or seasoning. Once the avo topping was finished you were left with a dry piece of meat.
The worse part is that the manager failed to come to our table all night. I did eventually ask for him but when him arrived, he did not greet or acknowledge the table, ask how the night was going...simply said someone asked to see me, immediately with an unfriendlyness. Once I explained about the rissoto, he insisted that this is how rissoto is cooked and that it is meant to be crunchy. With his poor attitude, I told him that it was fine we were not going to eat it anyway.
I just wanted to bring it to his attention.
Very disappointed with experience here, and I hate to say it but the manager was more friendly to the white patrons. All 7 of us at the table felt it. If that is the case you should not work in a job were you deal with all races.
And restaurant owners should not hire managers who behave in that manner towards paying customers.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, unfortunately because the location is stunning and the rest of the...

So on to the events of our last time. We booked for 7pm. When we arrived it took them 5 minutes to even greet us. And then they had to clear a table before they even sat us down. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived.
After we sat down a server approached us to take our drink orders. We asked what beer they had on tap and she went away to check for us, not taking the other drink orders. We sat for about 25 minutes and still nothing. Eventually someone did come to us to get our drink orders. It took them 20 minutes to bring the beer and then another 10 for the wine to arrive. When we got the wine we ordered starters which we waited another 20 minutes for, the focaccio was cold when it arrived.
Around 8:30 we managed to get another round of drinks and ordered our mains. This is when they rolled out a big speaker and started playing music in the central entrance area. It completely clashed with the general vibe of the restaurant and was quite distracting.
Our food only arrived at 9, the two pizzas we got, while tasty had obviously been sitting for a while as they were warm, not hot. However we had a pasta that had been kept warm and had gone dry. The two main offenders were the snails and calamari, which were both stone cold. The sauce on the snails had solidified.
To Lupa's credit, when asked to replace the two dishes they did it quickly, with only a 10 minute wait for them to come out fresh and hot. To add to their handling of the situation we got a free bottle of wine.
Overall I can still definitely recommend Lupa. Just be cautious around the...
Read moreI had the worst experience at Lupa, Florida Road. I took my mom and little sister since it's Mother's day and my sister's birthday on the 10/05. When we had arrived, at 12:30, it wasn't busy and we ordered drinks. At first, our waiter and the Manger were attentive. The drinks arrived almost 20 minutes later after we had ordered our meals. The restaurant slowly started to get a bit busy and people who arrived after us ate their meals and left. After over an hour, we finally asked the manager whether they still remember that we haven't received our food because we weren't getting any service at that point. I don't want to turn this into a race thing, HOWEVER, the customers who were being attended to and served were either White or Indian families. Both the manager and waiter would walk past our table and not even look at our table. I don't know how many times I tried to get their attention by waving my hand like a grade 3 pupil in class, however, they would be too busy attending to families that came after us. Our food finally arrived after waiting for an hour and almost 25 minutes. My little sister ordered pasta with a bolognese sauce. The tomato base was way too acidic and the mince tasted like it was past its sell by date. She had to pick the pasta from the sauce. My mom ordered steak with potato wedges. However, she received it with bland risotto that wasn't even done well. My breaded veal was bland, soggy, fatty and overcooked. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life, and I am appalled. All-in-all, mother's day was ruined and our whole mood turned...
