This place serves up a great bowl of traditional Korean hangover soup called haejangguk. There's plenty of vegetables and beansprouts in the soup which has mostly coagulated ox blood and beef tripe in it. Coupled with the spicy bean paste and a mustard-sesame sauce, it's a wholesome meal. This place gets really busy later in the night when office workers come to get their fix after a few rounds of drinks. It's inexpensive and of course, it's much better than the hangover soup places that I usually go to in California and in Sydney, Australia.

This long-established Seoul hangover soup (haejangguk) restaurant opened in 1937. It's still in operation in Jongno. The haejangguk (seonji haejangguk) is incredibly delicious and generous. There's no better Korean dish for a hangover cure the day after a night of drinking. The warm soup and rice make for a filling meal that leaves you feeling completely at ease. Takeout is also available.
