I tried ggomjangeo (grilled eel) for the first time here, and it was absolutely delicious! Honestly, I had never been drawn to it because of how it looks, but this first experience completely changed my mind. The flavors were incredible, and the small side dishes served alongside were the perfect complement.
As tourists, we were a bit nervous since the staff didn’t speak English, but they were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to help us. They patiently showed us how to eat it, which was a huge help since it was also our first time trying Korean grill food. Their kindness made the experience even more enjoyable.
This place is super tourist-friendly, and the atmosphere feels welcoming and authentic. Just order the ggomjangeo—it’s the star of the show. I haven’t tried it at other places yet, but I can confidently say this was the best. Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking for an amazing and unique Korean...
Read moreI'm no stranger to unagi and this is what I came here for, also very close to the hotel. Due to miscommunication as they have no English, I ordered the hagfish (25,000 per serving), which is not the unagi you would have in mind and there is minimum of 2 serving. Hagfish is not an eel, it is just a jawless fish. So I ended up spending 50k won on food I was not expecting. I have attached photos for reference so dont make the same mistake. A pity about my pricey experience TT but I believe the unagi would be very good so will come back and order the right item next time. Just suggestion, maybe they could start having English menu to cater to foreigners as this will also bring in...

Eventually we got asked one or two eels, but we felt super pressured into answering and didn't really understand what the restaurant was and we weren't shown a menu at any point.
They then just laid down two whole eels on the grill, which we found out at the end was the most expensive item on the menu.
We really felt like they took advantage of the fact that we were foreign and clearly new to South Korea. Don't come here as a foreigner, there are plenty of...
