The special dipping Sauce for the Pork Slices with Laver is also impressive. Kimchi with Boiled Pork Slices and Pan-fried Beef seems to the new menu which is savory and even good for foreign guests. The most beloved dish is Soy Sauce Marinated Crab (약선꽃게장) which is not fishy at all and noodles with the home-made Soy sauce is very different style, very tasty. Read moreAuthentic korean meal with insane banchan spread and heartwarming service ❤️😭
This spot that was coincidentally hidden right below my airbnb, bc this was one of my most memorable meals during my trip!!! 🥹🤍 hangaram is a family-run restaurant that serves traditional korean individual set meals. I really wanted to try gejang (korean marinated raw crab) on this trip and since my friend doesn’t eat raw food, this was perfect as I could just order for myself ☺️ but what I didn’t expect was the huuuge spread of banchan that came with the meal (including fresh OYSTERS, japchae (korean glass noodles), jeon (korean pancake) and even SASHIMI?!? 😭😭 the most heartwarming thing was I actually came 15 mins before they were closing and they refused me at first which I understand but after I left, the uncle ran after me and said I could dine there 🥺 so so grateful they did bc that was my last day in korea and I wouldn’t have had the chance to try this amazing place otherwise. and he even taught me how to eat everything, from mixing the soba noodles in the crab sauce to wrapping my sashimi with oyster in seaweed 😭 and auntie also offered my friend a drink even tho he wasn’t even eating 😭 🌟𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐛 | ₩𝟑𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 ok finally on to the food: the blue crab was SO fresh, sooo creamy and full of roe!!! the flesh was dense and meaty with a velvety texture. the cold soba went so well with the crab sauce too and can u believe the meal still came with rice and soup…!!! banchans were all well marinated with different sauces and wah I rly just felt like a queen with the insane spread…. 10/10 overall this was definitely one of my favourite meals, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and this pricing is rly so so worth, will revisit if I go to Seoul again and highly recco y’all...
Read moreWe came because it was near our hotel and I read good reviews about it. Though we didnt have a reservation, we managed to get a table at level 2 on a Sunday evening. The waitress could speak some Chinese but was impatient with us when we were trying to figure out how order. The lunch/dinner set menu starting from 25000krw onwards required a min of 4 pax to order. You can't order set menu if you are dining alone or if people in your party chose to order ala carte. For ala carte orders, it is expected that 1 person order 1 main. The prices for all carte dishes are more expensive than regular restaurants so we settled for the basic set menu which came with all the side dishes and a choice of 4 mains. I would say the range of side dishes were impressive but the mains were disappointing. The fried fish was salty, hard and cold, the kind you can throw at the wall and bounce back. The beef shanks with abalone was also a cold dish but the taste was alright. The beef bulgogi dish was at best lukewarm. Only mains were really enjoyed was the salmon sashimi salad which was the smallest of all the mains we had chosen. Most side dishes were cold too like they had just been taken out from the fridge with the exception for the seaweed soup. As we began to tuck in to our dinner, they made us moved to the next table in a hurry and mixed up our cutlery n cups, all because a larger group of customers came and needed our table which could seat more pax. They need to work on their customer service. Food wise the side dishes stole the limelight from the mains. It was a meal that left me feeling cold and...
