Itaewon Uyukmien — Restaurant in Seoul

This Taiwanese-Sichuan restaurant was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand (high-quality dishes at affordable prices) from 2018 to 2022. In spite of having lost the prestigious award, it remains a great place where to experience home-made classic dishes of South China cuisine at very competitive prices, especially in a city as expensive as Seoul usually is. If you like spicy or very spicy food this is heaven (the Sichuan part of the menu) and even if you don't there are quite a few options to enjoy without burning your taste buds. Their signature beef meat, served with noodles in broth is melt-in-your-mouth tender, but also seafood-based dishes are of really high quality. I especially enjoyed the Tom-Yam. To help you chose, a menu in both English and Korean is available once you are seated and the staff speaks enough basic English to help you navigate the choices (and the spice level). The restaurant is rather small inside and they do NOT take reservation, so sometimes you might have to wait outside until a table becomes available, but it is well worth the wait! It is located near the LEEUM museum and it is a perfect place where to fill your tummy with delicious food without breaking the bank after walking inside and around the museum....

A unique small efficiently run restaurant that serves delicious Taiwanese noodle dishes this is your place. When we arrived at the location there were Koreans and tourists waiting in line for an available table. We luckily arrived for an early lunch and were seated within 15 minutes. They do not take reservations. Friendly servers who were able to accommodate English speaking tourists. A menu in English and Korean was available...
