A hidden place within residential area.

You can find it in a small alley way by the Penguin coffee store. The front has a sing in Korean only so it might be easy to miss, but you can verify the building number as reference.

The food was simple but very tasty, the stew is a definite must order along with big sausage. We opted to skip rice as we opted for the pork ribs, which was good but not something I would seek out. Stew - it was delectable with the cabbage, Korean spam, sausages (hot dog like), tiny bits of beef bites at the bottom and topped with cheese slices. Somehow all the combination worked really well together and helped fix the prior long night Big sausage - soft, yet the skin gives it a nice snap and while it is being served on a hot plate, the sizzle will prep your appetite as the edges get carmelized Pork ribs - doused in a heavy layer of dark sauce that is slightly sweet which also gives the pork a nice texture. It would probably have been good to go with rice vs. a la carte.

Overall a great experience and recommend checking it out if you are...

A restaurant located in Itaewon area. Famous for it's dish called Johnson-tang. It's similar to Buddaejjigae, but they put cabbage instead of kimchi, and also they put cheese in it. Because of that the spam and sausage inside the soup tastes sweeter than the Buddaejjigae. Just like Buddaejjigae, which was made from smuggled spams and sausages from CP Red cloud in Uijeongbu, this was also made from smuggled spams and sausages from Garrison Yongsan. Because of that history, they also have menus like grilled sausage or beef barbeque. This place is considered origin of the Johnson-tang so it's very popular. You might have to wait for a long time during dinner hours. You have to take off your shoes when entering the restaurant. The owner lady can speak...

Local Korean army stew! budae - jjigae! Authentic and definitely not too sweet unlike the usual establishments that add the canned baked beans into their stews. add some ramen too if you must. note that each portion/ per pax includes rice if you so decide to add more ramen etc. their sausage and stir fried pork ribs are must orders too! Good sized restaurant with normal chair seating in the main area and traditional floor seating in the rear. follow the Google map properly to ensure you reach the right restaurant.. there is another similar one located along the main street that always has long queues whether due to good food too or...

Understood why this place was referred so much. Simple and very familiar taste but well orchestrated. Ready to eat when presented in front of you. Mind you, usually you have to boil this for couple of minutes fighting the urge to dive in. Not my best budae jjiggae but definitely the first option if you’re taking a girlfriend or female colleagues for this type of dish.
