Cozy spot with soul and subtlety. This little restaurant claims to serve up mother’s recipes—and who am I to argue? What matters is knowing what kind of food they’re aiming for: not punchy, not dramatic, but balanced.
They offer a thoughtful lunch set menu—vegan, vegetarian, meat, seafood—all paired with a solid list of alcoholic options. I went with the octopus salad and seafood soup set, plus an extra side of fried seaweed.
The octopus salad? Light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced—not salty, not sweet, not tangy. Just clean. Same goes for the seafood soup: fresh seafood, a light natural sweetness (always a good sign), and just a whisper of chili heat. There’s a veggie in there I recognize by taste but can’t name—adds a nice earthy note.
The fried seaweed was a smart move—crispy, salty, and the perfect texture contrast for the octopus salad. Definitely recommend that combo.
To drink, I had a local-brewed umeshu on the rocks. It’s got more kick than the Japanese version, but still smooth and enjoyable.
Final verdict? Once you adjust your expectations and tune into the restaurant’s rhythm—subtle, homey, balanced—everything...

Hidden in the hills off of the main Itaewon Road, this place is a gem.
On weekends or holidays, if you drop by and get on the wait list, then a minimum of 1 hour wait, so try to make a reservation.
Valet parking is available; however, go to the Leeum Museum just up the road where there is free parking if you take a tour...even the free self tour.
The food is well worth the wait. The signature set - as shown in the pictures - was fantastic. Every item was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The kimchii, however, isn't included in the free side dishes. It's KRW 6,000 extra for a very small portion if you decide you can'tgowithout it, which is the only gripe I have.
The place isn't large - maybe 12-15 tables.
The area is surrounded by art galleries and shops, so the wait isn't too bad.
