I visited Nuldam Cafe on 6 July 2024 with the understanding that they could send ANY future letter within a year. Upon arrival, I used Google Translate to read the sign with instructions which was at the sealing station while I waited to be served. At the counter, I purchased a croissant, a drink, and two international letter-sending kits, totalling nearly $30 AUD. I missed the additional signage believing it to be the same as the sealing station. While more expensive, I expected this service to simplify the process of using Korea Post, which was a bit far for me on a Saturday. The postcards were marked with 2024-2025, indicating to me they could be sent anytime from July 2024 to July 2025.

I was initially disappointed to find that the kit contained postcards rather than letter formats (which is what all the advertising in store stated) limiting the amount I could write. It was also very basic designs. I decided to make the most of it and proceeded with writing. It was only after addressing the envelopes that I noticed they were scheduled to be sent in 2025. This was my oversight for not catching it sooner when I received the kit, as this seemed more clear than the signage.

When I queried the send date while sealing the letters, the staff explained that letters are sent only in the following year, as mentioned in small print on the counter sign. The sign stated, “All letters will be sent on the desired day of the NEXT year,” which could benefit from clearer wording and examples to avoid confusion as well as placing this on all instruction signage so it is not missed.

Realising they would not be able to send the letter when I needed it to be sent (it was a birthday letter), I asked if I could be refunded the postage fee portion of the kit given they would no longer be able to provide that part of the service and I would need to go out of my way to find a Korea Post office. Initially, the staff declined, citing policy and brand guidelines. After discussing the matter, I expressed my frustration with the lack of clarity about the timeframe, emphasising that I wouldn’t have spent my time and money if the information had been clearer. Example; “We will only send your letter 1 (one) year from todays date” is even a lot more clearer. There seemed to be a lot of confusion around what I was trying to say regarding advertising claims and wording.

The staff member remained calm and explained the business model, however we were not able to get on the same page. To their credit, the cafe eventually refunded me 6000 won, which was the entire amount of one kit, exceeding my request for just the postage fee portion. In all honesty though, I probably would not have paid for food and drink at this place if I didn’t need their postage service as there were limited options.

In summary, I think this situation stemmed from a miscommunication. The staff were wonderful, and I appreciate their efforts to resolve the issue. My feedback is for clearer signage and explanations at ALL instruction signage to enhance customer service. A simple example statement would help quite a bit. For those looking to send a basic, branded postcard home in a year, this cafe is a great choice.

Thank you to the staff for their patience. It’s not always easy to converse in another language and I appreciate...

A Unique and Heartfelt Experience at Nuldam Space!

My friends and were in South Korea last month and had the most memorable experience at Nuldam Space near Gyeongbok Palace! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed into a clean, cozy environment, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. After placing our food order (which was absolutely delicious), we got to pick out postcards and choose the wax colors we wanted to seal our letters with.

With our food and supplies in hand, we headed upstairs to begin the beautiful task of writing letters to our future selves. It was such a cathartic and truthful experience for each of us, allowing us to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the year ahead. Knowing that we’ll receive these letters a year from now makes the anticipation even more exciting!

Once we finished writing, we went back downstairs to melt the wax, seal our letters, and place them in the designated box with our future mailing date. It was the perfect way to close out this deeply reflective experience.

Whether you’re visiting with friends or alone, Nuldam Space offers a unique and meaningful activity that is not only relaxing but also leaves you feeling hopeful for the future. We can't wait to receive our letters back a...

This is a cafe with exceptionally friendly staff I recently had the pleasure of visiting this vegan cafe that left an indelible impression on me.

During my visit, I unfortunately had a clumsy moment and accidentally dropped my drink. However, to my surprise and delight, the staff quickly came to my aid. Thank you very much for your kind service.

Beyond the fantastic service, the cafe's interior was equally remarkable. It exuded an inviting, modern, and comfortable ambiance that instantly made me feel at ease.

And to top it off, there were even conveniently placed power outlets throughout the seating area, allowing me to charge my devices while enjoying my time at the cafe.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at the vegan cafe for providing me with such a wonderful experience. Their genuine friendliness and exceptional service truly made my visit memorable.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a vegan cafe with an inviting atmosphere and staff who are unparalleled in their kindness and attentiveness, this is the place to be. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you once again for a truly...
