Being a ramen enthusiast myself, I couldn't let the chance of trying this Michelin rated and supposedly best ramen in Seoul slip by. They have multiple outlets in town so it should generally not be an issue to locate one nearby your metro station. I came to this branch and it is conveniently situated just right outside of Anguk metro station. It was in an alley so do pay attention or simply navigate with your Naver app. I arrived on a late lunch hour and there were not many customers. I was led to make an order with the ordering machine with the assistance of a staff member. The menu was simple which made ordering an easy one. I got their must-try tori paitan ramen with added chasiu and marinated egg. You can opt for their complimentary cilantro if you so wish. My order came rather quick and I was greeted with what looked like a ordinary ramen bowl but the looks can be deceiving. I took a sip of the quintessential broth and was immediately blown away by the richness and the aroma of it. The flavors were intense yet they didn't overwhelm. I believe this balancr was achieved with their main chicken broth infused with some pork elements as stated. The almost creamy and milky texture gave a very satisfying soup slurping experience here. I was also glad that I added the chasiu because not only did it imbued the dish with a flavorful porky goodness, the melt-in-your-mouth texture was heavenly. The slices of chicken breasts weren't too bad either. It was lightly seasoned with evident peppery taste and the meat was very tender unlike some chewy breast meat. The quality of noodles were also very commendable. The bouncy and springy texture hit the perfect spot of what a ramen noodles should be like. The egg was adequately marinated and provided some umami punch especially with the egg yolk. Just be aware that your bowl of ramen already came with one so you do not need to add egg like I did. Now here was what I truly liked about the place, they would serve you extra broth or rice if you requested for it and they also don't stinge on it as seen from what they gave me. This deserves a big plus as I simply couldn't get enough of their broth. Overall I was very pleased with the taste and quality of the ramen here. I am not surprised that they garnered such reputation after trying it myself. I would highly recommend Oreno Ramen and I myself will certainly revisit when I...

Fortunately, I came right before the dinner rush so I didn't have to wait at all. The staff were friendly and attentive and even offered a paper bib for me to wear to protect my clothes from the intense noodle slurping to come.

I ordered the kara paitan ramen and it had a slightly spicy, creamy broth with fried garlic, woodear mushrooms, green onions, a soft boiled egg (I ordered an extra one because I was feeling fancy), the most tenderest chicken slices ever, and noodles with an enviable texture I will never be able to replicate at home.

And if you're like me and want more, fret not. They offer free refills on the noodles (half or full order), rice, and soup. If you don't know how to ask for it, just wave down one of the staff and point at the little sign they have on the napkin dispenser (I sat at the counter so there was one in front of every other seat. It's in Korean and English.)

10/10 will return for...
