Shake Shack in Seoul is pretty popular: it’s one of the go-to spots for both locals and tourists looking for an American-style burger experience in South Korea. The first Shake Shack in Seoul opened in 2016 in Gangnam, and since then, the chain has expanded to multiple locations across the city, including: Gangnam (flagship) – modern interior, usually very busy. Jamsil Lotte World Mall – good if you’re visiting Lotte attractions. Itaewon – a trendy area with international vibes. Yeouido – near the financial district, perfect for office lunch breaks. Menu highlights in Seoul While you’ll find the classic ShackBurger, crinkle-cut fries, and shakes, they also serve Korea-exclusive items, like: Korean-style chicken burgers with a sweet & spicy glaze. Local frozen custard flavors inspired by Korean desserts. Things to know: Expect queues, especially at Gangnam and Jamsil on weekends. Prices are slightly higher than fast food in Korea, closer to premium casual dining. You can order via kiosks, which have English options. 📍Shake Shack , Seoul #seoul #southkorea #shakeshack #famousburger #americanburger #placetobe #trip2025

I make it a point to come here about once a year just for their burgers. I’ve always loved a good hamburger, but it’s not something I crave all the time. That doesn’t mean I only eat a burger once a year—just that I save my appetite for the right place, and this happens to be one of them. I haven’t had a Big Mac in decades since I gradually moved away from it, but in many ways Shake Shack has become my version of McDonald’s today. Their milkshakes remind me of the ones I used to love at McDonald’s back in the ’80s—rich, creamy, and nostalgic. The burgers here are undeniably tasty, though I sometimes find they leave a salty aftertaste that makes me reach for a Coke. Maybe that’s part of the reason I keep my visits to once a year—enough to satisfy the craving, but not so often that I lose the specialness of it.

We were excited to try Shake Shack as we've heard a lot of good things online. I ordered the shroom burger and my husband had the shack burger. I found the shroom burger too salty and my husband said the shack burger was just average. We felt like it wasn't worth the hype. We did however enjoy the atmosphere and aesthetic of store.

I am a big fan of a good burger but unfortunately my wife is not so its not often we eat burgers together but this day she caved in and interestingly she became a BIG convert... how do they make this so delicious?!? was her prime question uttered between bites... is it the bun? The beef? The fries? All of the above. Really... a burger deserves this much fanfare? Today it did. Only downside was the 20min wait before our buzzer buzzed... good food takes time to prepare fresh I suppose. ...
