HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT My husband and I went there based on great reviews.. The place itself is extremely dated and decorations leave much room to be desired but I was hoping that the food would be worth it.. as we just wanted to had a good meal and we had some delicious food in more humble restaurants before. we were served by a lovely older lady who was charming and kind. The beers arrived quickly and we aprichiated a frosted glass on a hot evening. have ordered the starter garlic prawn which were cook fine but nothing that would stand out from every other 100 tapas places round the area, just prawns with a bit of garlic swimming in oil. We read good reviews about the paella so we order that. I'm afraid that the paella was one of the worse that I had in my life, rice was drastically overcooked , so much that the rice grain split and that was clearly visible with the naked eye just sitting up looking at the paella no need for close examination even. As we were extremely hungry I didn't want to say anything as it takes about 30 min to cook and didn't wanted to send back. I hope at least the taste would compensate for it. But here we were disappointed yet again the seafood didn't taste fresh at all and the whole paella had a strange aftertaste. I barely ate anything, from that paella as I was afraid that I would have troubles in the night because of it. I'm afraid that i can't recommend this place for anything other than a cold glass of bear. If you want a really good paella got o El Tejado.. also very humble little place and the communication were a bit challenging but there the food is truly cooked with LOVE and care. I can't understand for the life of me all these 5...
Read moreWe went there a couple of times at the beginning of 2021 and in November 2022 as the paella was decent, but the last time we went there was a big disappointment and we will never return. The lady owner was acting very shady about the payment by card. At first she was trying to convince us to pay cash (which we didn’t have as we were able to pay by card in the past) and when the POS wasn’t working she blamed us for not having enough money on our cards (which she judged by our nationality and not the POS actually giving that information). Paella is also not that great after all, the seafood they are using does not taste fresh + it’s not really an authentic paella. Also the place itself looks very shady and has questionable flags on the walls.
Piece of advice for the lady owner: Next time you think about making racist assumptions remember first where...
Read moreA great place, not obvious location.
Food is cooked fresh, so can take a long time. Ours took longer than I would have expected, as it seemed like the orders from various tables were collected and the same dishes cooked together. This makes sense for the restaurant, but it meant that for the customer, we had to wait longer for our food than say a table that came 5 minutes after we had already ordered; with the same dish coming out for us both at the same time.
However, when it came the food was very nice, and definitely fresh. Worth the wait.
So good that we have come back for the Paella, but now with knowledge it was going to take a while. Still with the wait the...
