Our experience at the Moon began mediocre, and only declined. Myself, my parents, and my younger sister (all adults) decided to visit based on its proximity to our accommodation. We wished we had taken a longer walk and gone elsewhere.
We ordered starters and mains. To begin, we had two portions of fried squid, a camembert and garlic mushrooms. Whilst the former two were enjoyable, the latter came with a substantial amount of chilli - too much for our mild tastes, at least. Not to mention, said starters took roughly 25 mins to arrive from the time we ordered. However, we decided not to raise this issue as at this point we were relatively relaxed.
However, more substantial issues began with our main courses. After waiting a further 40 mins, and having to ask a waiter where our food was, it finally arrived with no explanation to its lateness - a table behind us, in this time, had been seated, recieved their meal and finished it fully. Not only was this food nothing to write home about (mediocre, at best) but my mum's chicken kebab was raw to the extent that the middle was still bloody. This is obviously unacceptable, and if she hadn't noticed, could have thoroughly ruined the rest of our holiday. This put my sister off of her chicken curry, my dad off of his chicken burger, and myself off of my house tagliatelle (whilst it didn't contain chicken, the incredibly rushed nature of the arrival of our food after our asking caused concern). Little concern was shown from the waiters. My mum returned her dish and went hungry, not wanting to risk them "doing something quick" for her.
The waiter did remove the chicken kebab from our bill, as well as two of my dad's drinks (which were the cheapest we had ordered, might I mention) as a form of "compensation". Considering we still paid €89.10, this was far from enough.
Other issues also arose, such as drinks orders being taken from our table and not arriving until we asked a second time, nearly 15 minutes later, and the general cleanliness of the toilets. All in all, this experience took just shy of two and a half hours. This is not a place travelers should consider visiting if they value their time or...
Read moreWe went here and sat looking at the sea which was really nice. Then we ordered, I got the steak and my partner got the pasta with seafood. The steak wasn’t very special but my partners food was very nice. However once we finished our food we waited for the bill for 20 mins which we didn’t mind too much. However once we asked for the bill one of the waiters came over, I tried to pay but my card declined, tried again. I looked at my bank account and saw that there was a pending transaction then one declined. I was confused, tried to explain to the waiter that one of the transaction might have gone through, he was telling me to hurry up and get off my phone. He then explained in a very abrupt manner that it was pending, and he then told us to hurry up to pay as they were very busy. Then I tried my card again, inputting the pin but still no luck. My partner had to end up paying, while the waiter did explain why it could just be a pending transaction, the manner he explain came across as rude and we felt rushed to pay even though nobody had come over to give us the bill. Then I checked the next day to find out I was charged, so myself and my boyfriend were both charged for the meal. This was however sorted out by the management, who were the only redeeming factor, they dealt with this issue professionally and resolved it very quickly. However due to the waiter, it was a very disappointing night. Would recommend getting receipts for declined...
Read moreA tourist trap + I found a piece of chicken in vegetarian paella!
First of all, there were two entrances to the restaurant, and while we were standing in the queue at one entrance, at another one promoter was encouraging people to come in..
Then we sat inside and ordered 2 paellas for 2 people (vegetarian and seefood) and drinks. We waited 15 min for the drinks, the atmosphere around was very chaotic - waiters running around with dishes and dirty plates, tables being moved and so on. At some point, a waiter put somebody's pizza in a box at our table (without asking us whether it's fine or not).. The pizza was laying there for half an hour, until another waitress found it and gave to the person who ordered..
We waited ~50 min for paellas to come, but when we tried them, I must say I have never eaten such a tasteless paella! It was edible, but didn't taste like paella at all - vegetarian paella was basically overcooked rice mixed with vegetables. In both paellas there were a lot of frozen green peas. My friend took seafood paella and she couldn't finish it, as it was tasteless as well (except for prawns, which were fine).
The last straw was a piece of chicken that I found in my vegetarian paella (photo attached)..
Worst experience ever in Tenerife and I hope that people will know before going to this restaurant, how sloppy and...
