El caldero — Restaurant in Adeje

It is such a shame... as they have the best mojitos we ever had in Tenerife. Try the strawberry or passion fruit mojitos. Simply amazing. Ok, the bad part... the service. You sit down, the staff makes their upmost to ignore you, chatting between themselves. Obviously mopping the entire outside floor is more important than serving new costumers. You have to call them otherwise you will be there waiting for ever. Hard to believe as most areas you go to in Tenerife, bar staff are always trying to get you in, but not here, they cant be bothered. I loved the Mojito first time, so i tought i could deal with the bad service a second time just for the amazing drink. Second time it was the same, ignored until we called them. This time they were not happy at all that i did not want any meal, but just drinks. I was willing to have some tapas, but anything i wanted on the menu as tapas were not available. So i said, just leave it i will only have drinks. The staff member (female) got really annoyed almost being rude. But luckilly they were pleasant afterwards. It is a real shame but you could imagine why other places on the seafront were packed with costumers and this one only a few costumers. Management please...

I gave this restaurant one star as it is the absolute minimum required to leave a review. I'd have given the restaurant half a star if I was able to. The only saving grace of this abomination of a "restaurant" is the lovely ocean view. The service at this establishment is absolutely abysmal. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were not greeted by a member of staff. I waited for a couple of mins before asking a waitress if it was possible to get a table. My request was met with "one minute" as the waitress walked off. After eventually being seated, it wouldn't be for another 25 mins and asking multiple staff before we had our drinks order taken. Another 10 mins again before I had to go up to a waiter to ask him to take our food order. The attitude from every member of staff we interacted with was extremely poor and not one single apology was made for the extreme lack of service. The food quality was extremely average and did not redeem the poor service. I would advise everyone to avoid this place if you value good food...

Really bad experience. We stopped here for a drink as they have a nice sea view. After nearly 10min waiting I went to ask if it was table service and was told "yes" and nothing else. 5min later we waved down the waitress, who told us to wait. 5min aftet that she came back and without saying a word took our order (2 soft drinks) and left. We waited a further 10 mins, watched another couple arrive, place their order, and be served coffee before we got our drinks. We decided to leave and when we told the waitress we waited so long she just said OK and walked off. We speak Spanish so it wasn't even a case of us being typical tourists. Bad service (ie, not served after almost 30min), rude staff, total tourist trap. Avoid and head to one of the other bars...
