I usually don’t post bad reviews but I need to do this for others to know what to expect. I’m the kind of person who eats only when it’s hungry and it usually one on day, I needed to say that because I didn’t feel well after I dined here. I filtered on google maps 4.5 stars and above and prefer Mediterranean food. The stuff are friendly and very professional, the service it’s top notch! Unfortunately the waitress that taken our order didn’t care to much what we chose we made. We were asked if we want bread and sauce and we refused, still brings them. The service was spectacular but I can’t say same thing about the food. From those 3 souses I liked only one and my girlfriend another one. Tartar Salmon was tasty but can be a subjective opinion this regard because I love sashimi. But the rice with shrimps was below average. Rise was cooked “al dente” but the souse was like a soup and used a spoon to eat. Also it contain vongole and mussels and they are not specified in the menu. One of the surprise was the check, where 2 caldoso were included and not one how we were informed and also two Pan mojos that we refused. I think it was a very expensive dinner regarding the food quality. The second surprise was my stomach protesting with what I served to him, I didn’t felt good in that night, was a war in my belly, something was not right and I...

We gave them two tries. The first attempt we had lunch which we noticed was not up the the quality of past years. When got the bill and we’re quite shocked especially since we did not get alcohol. The service was also not nearly as friendly as before. They have raised their prices considerably but the food and service does not match. On our second attempt we had a reservation for a table on the terrace and when we got there they said “this is your table” which was inside the restaurant. We asked why we couldn’t have one of the empty tables outside but they were rude and refused to accommodate or offer any alternative so we left. This was our go to restaurant for the past 7 years whenever we were in La Caleta but it appears to have fallen flat on its face. I think many people go here based on old positive reviews and past experiences but I think people will soon catch on that there are now far better options all...

Casual but charming seafront restaurant with outdoor dining (if you have a reservation). We went for the first sitting of the evening around 6.30pm as we like to eat early so didn’t need a reservation. We were seated outside, had a fantastic sea view and it was lovely! Of all the times I’ve been served bread and mojo, Salitre has the best blend - fragrant, complex and not too viscous. We had the tuna starter as oysters were off the menu unfortunately. We also tried the anchovies and shared the black risotto for our main which was rich with the flavour and texture of squid. By the end of the meal we had charcoal smiles from ear to ear. All-in-all, an unexpectedly reasonably priced romantic November night. PS. If you’re lucky enough to be in La Caleta during a full-moon book an early dinner at Salitre after a sunset drink and dine outside in the moonlight no matter the...

Simply fantastic place. After having gone to another nearby restaurant for years and feeling like it was going downhill, we decided to try here and how glad we were. I kindly requested a table with a nice view and was given one right on the front. The food was fabulous, especially the octopus which I had to start (although came with a big bed of mash potatoes and was big enough to be a main). I got Turbot for main and my wife sea bass, I had never had turbot before, always put off by the price, but here it was very reasonable. I didn't love it, but that was my personal taste and no fault of the restaurant. When I return, I would instead order multiple items off the smaller plates section, such as the different varieties of prawns etc. Cannot wait to return to this simply fantastic place. I would recommend to anyone wanting a special meal in a beautiful location.
