If you're here in Celso, sit and know you have found heaven. It's a place I must go as much as possible. When I'm very rich I'll move in. . Or live next door. It's not Mc. Donald's so forget that. . It's grown up full of locals, young and old who want to spend lazy family days, enjoying everything. Entertainment is free, sit out on the lower terrace and strap yourself in for a show. If there is music, who would care. I don't think there is. It's full of normal people watching. Even if the sea, lapping at the rocks, doesn't do it for you, wait and see the child losing her shoe and blame grandma for the tide taking it away. It's better than East Enders. All the food is cooked to absolute perfection. The service is comfortably lasting, for you to know there watching from afar, there is no pressure. What to order, only god knows your taste, be assured it's the best your going to get. The steak, my only question on that is what's the knife for? All the fish is still beyond great, superb, excellent. It tastes of the air around you, the Atlantic. Ocean. There is nothing to fault it. Price wise, 50/60 euro. Two mains coffee and a fine wine. It is busy, you will need to book if you want to eat in the evening. I personally like 5/6 pm. It's vibrant but you normally can get in. It's close enough to our apartment to just cry quietly if it's full. Second to none. Don't even hesitate to go there and have a free show...
Read moreUnnoticeable atmosphere. Staff were not welcoming. Only several folks dining. Plates were cold. Fish fillet was poor for a Fish Restaurant on the rocks with waves. No vegan option. Order of potatoes and grilled vegetables = pots were warm at best, clearly been cooked and standing some time; vegetables were very oily as in stir fried, a small amount thinly sliced; pots and veg cost more than the fish meal. Our guest ordered medium to well done fillet steak which wasn't a fillet, maybe rump, small thick piece, which he cut with difficulty and they took back to the kitchen when I noticed they had given him a regular food knife which I took to the Manager and exchanged for a steak knife. Steak returned but was too tough to chew and most was left. Steak was 28.50 euros, but a surcharge of 4 euros for a few spoonfuls of pepper sauce! Very disappointing. We've been to this restaurant since it opened or since we moved here in 1985; lots of birthday parties when the children were growing up, took guests, friends there, lately 2023 and 24 wife's February birthday parties with 5/7 friends, never had any negative experiences. If it was now on the way to closing it...
Read moreI have been travelling the world tasting local recommendations for restaurants and unfortunately this fell far below standard.
The service was very lapse without passion to please tourists. It seemed that the locals had control over this element. I was shocked to see how little they cared about my well-being. However now the food...
So to the food. Completely overpriced and very tasteless. No seasoning at all on any of the courses we had. My partner had the octopus and it was undercooked and with an incredibly over sweetened puree. I had the squid and was unfortunately like eating an old boot again with no seasoning accompanied by 3 very dry potatoes.
I could really continue on this restaurant but will follow up with a full review but I would want to admit that I am not writing this to slate the restaurant but actually to critic in the most recommended way towards the restaurant itself. I hope that I will have the full review in a matter of weeks ready.
I would recommend making sure you choose the dish wisely and try to make sure you are properly taken care of.
Have a beautiful holiday and I hope...
