While I appreciate service and staffing can be under pressure in this busy season, our experience was extremely poor for what is deemed to be a high class restaurant. We had no reservation but the waitress invited us to stay. I would not have waited with my family if I had known an hour long plus wait was in store. Better to tell us to return another evening than sour our experience from the start. Let me begin, basic drinks order to include water took ages, never got the olives and breadsticks that were offered, tables that were empty all evening could have been offered but we waited close on 1.5 hours to be seated at the back of the restaurant. Again if the food was superior, I could have gotten over a lot. But it was poor, poor, poor. Noodles were stodgy, steak was not cooked to medium and the pizza was nothing special, certainly no better than a supermarket buy. No one took responsibility for the overall customer service and to take over €190 for 4 from us for just mains and drinks, knowing our experience was shocking, was appalling, no effort was made to improve our evening with a gesture of any sort. We are foodies at the best of times and it’s what makes our holidays. The restaurant no doubt has a wonderful setting overlooking the sea, beautiful decor and very good barman at the entry point, but after that, fine dining it certainly is not and service are a huge let down. The most disappointing dining experience of our whole...
Read moreWe booked in advance. Its quite clearly busy so i wouldn't bother trying to just walk up. The waiter we had was very friendly and good with the kids. Even explained the origin of a Margherita pizza to the kids. Not sure about the other waiting staff but he was good. Made a converted effort. We didn't wait long for our food when it arrived it was good quality. The pizza was lovely. Even my fussy son who got chicken nuggets was catered for and they were good, not frozen. I ordered the burrata to start which was excellent. The lamb shoulder for main which was well portioned and good quality. The pricing is similar to other restaurants along that row. Its certainly not the cheapest place to eat though but checking the menu in advance you already know this before entering. There were a couple of blokes on the table next to us who were just plain rude and overly demanding. The waiting staff handled them very well i thought before they took their business elsewhere. Its not a Michelin starred restaurant it serves good quality food at a price that is not extortionate for the area. The dining area is nicely decorated and the sea view is lovely. So the setting carries a price in itself. My son's peanut allergy was taken into account and advised accordingly. Would visit again. Desserts very...
Read moreI was searching for quality drinks , staying in playa de Las Americas they are hard to come by. I found a place near playa paraiso and took the long walk, it turned out to be a shop who guided me to this place, roughly in the middle of both. After having found nothing beyond supermarket, industrial drinks ( either in fancy or cheap looking places, but equally poor quality ) I was ready to take anything even slightly better. It was a pleasant, and big surprise how great this place is. Peacefully, quite, not the loud sounds and weed smoke , drunk people you find elsewhere nearby - yet it's right at the seaside , and thus premium location , beautifully view. Service was exceptionally professional and friendly. Winelist was great ( including the high quality stuff like Krug, dom perignon ,... ) But also affordable glasses of wine, including a Tenerife one which I took and very much enjoyed. Amazing setting, thoughtful staff ( who treated me like a vip, even though I looked far from it after such a long walk ). Great for international standards , so out of category above and beyond for anything nearby you'd be doing a crime to yourself not passing by if you're in the area, and enjoy quality. Recommendation wine was also exactly right -...
