After seeing the place for a long time I decided to give it a shot as I was hungry. The Americana aesthetic is nice and inviting, as you walk in I wasn't very impressed by the McDonald's style fast-food menu and a touchscreen rather than a traditional order by waiter but I accepted it as part of fast food style American look.
I ordered their main menu burger a chilli side dish starter and a hot dog. They gave me a beeper with my order number so I would know when my food is ready. After patiently waiting in the heat of Tenerifes summer red flags started showing, I saw customers next to me waiting and waiting same as me from before I even came in, multiple people were asking about their food after long periods of time. I looked online and found similar comments of long wait times...like I said at the begining the order area looks like McDonalds with touchscreens to order and pictures of food etc. This gives you a fast food place impression but the food service is anything but fast.
Finally after seeing multiple customers complain and waiting at least 40 minutes my meal was finally done.
To make my experience worse the chilli that I ordered was apparently coming later so after everything that put a bad taste in my mouth and left me with disappointment, food wise I have to say that the burger was actually very enjoyable and I can't really complain about it, it was big and nicely done and it stopped my hunger so I'm happy, the fries were fine, not bad but nothing impressive either they came unsalted without any salt to put on them for personal preference, on the other hand the hotdog wasn't very good the sausage wasn't very warm and it felt like most of it was just mediocre bread that's falling apart.
After finishing my burger that once again I will point out that it was actually nice, I wondered where my chilli is, a waitress came over and asked me of I would like to change my chilli order for some chicken nuggets because they are behind orders, I was a bit shocked considering that they ask me that after waiting all that time and then finishing my food I would have to wait even longer if they started to make me nuggets.
In the end I asked for my money back for the chilli as it never appeared. The waitress was nice and apologized multiples times about the delays so I have no complaints about the customer service and they gave special cups as gifts to customers I assume as a sorry for the customers.
The biggest issue is the time it takes to receive your food it's definitely way to slow for not just fast food but any place. And sadly it seems to be an ongoing issue that has to be improved, because even though I enjoyed my burger I will not reccomend the...
Read moreWhat a difference six months makes. Sadly it appears the restaurant has been taken over in that time as the staff are completely new...and most haven't the slightest clue what they're doing.
We've always ordered at the counter as we personalise our food, under the big surf board saying 'order here' and this last time the staff saw us and ignored us for 5 minutes. Finally a member of staff acknowledged us and then insisted we use the order screen, which we said we couldn't as we cant remove cheese etc on there. So she then said to go back to the counter and we were served by a man who didn't know what any of the items on the menu were.If they now no longer want people ordering at the counter, maybe take down the 6 foot long sign that says ORDER HERE.
Such a shame as it was one of our favourite places to eat in Tenerife. The customer service used to be first class, SO friendly and the food was delicious. Just feels now like customers are an inconvenience and none of the staff care. The food is also nothing like it used to be. We ate at tea time when previously it would be packed, the fact that it was really quiet says everything about the place...
