BnB guests avoid. Nice atmosphere and ambience, service was pretenious. Seems to be to try and make up for the overpriced food. Asked for tap water advised they do bottled water only, its illegal in tenerife not to offer tap water in a restaurant.
Got the bread was yummy with white loaf and walnut bread, however the microscopic serving of butter was laughable 3 dollops the size of a 20¢, garlic was nice, butter was butter, and the redwine butter had colour but limited flavour.
A little amouse bouche was offered of tomato and mozzarella with pesto.
The €32 wagyu burger came with nice salted chucky chips, was okay as a burger but underwelming for the price, immediatly forgettable. I had asked for medium but it appears they mixed up mine and the kids burger.
Ordered the charcoal grilled chicken with potatoes and rosemary. Recieved a mini roast chicken, no charcoal smoke flavour, on a bed of the same chips that came with the burgers. When i challenged the lack of rosemary & potatoes i was told "its chips" i explained there is no observable hint or flavour of rosemary. After a back and forth to the kitchen, the waiter returned with an attitude, some rosemary oil and some sprigs of rosemary, they'd clear forgot, which did improve the meal. Although when i read charcoal chargrilled chicken i think butterfly with a nice grill sear not a mini roasted chicken. As mentioned previously the kids burger was ordered well done but arrived medium. The waiter avoided us for the rest of the meal. It was nice enough but the prices are a extortionate for what your getting, i'd be complaining if it wasn't subsidised...
Read moreWe’ve only revisited Hard Rock for Le Petit Chef reasons since we stayed here a few years ago, so thought it is time to try one of their other restaurants. Montauk is one of three sited above the adult pool underneath the western tower, there is internal seating and also a large terrace, just perfect for evening sunshine and lovely views.
The bread with a selection of butters is excellent, keeping us going until our shared croquettes arrive. An excellent starter, these are made from shredded beef and cheese, served on a bed of sautéed mushrooms. A small glass of malvasía complements this course perfectly.
For main we both opt for lamb, and it’s a good choice - an eight-rib rack, cooked pink and served pre-carved on hot(ish) platters and accompanied with our choices of béarnaise and mushroom sauces from the options available. Truffle and Parmesan fries complete the lineup but are soggy and underwhelming. The quality of he lamb is excellent and pink as requested, both sauces very good. Malbec is our choice here and does a reasonably good job.
Puddings sound dull so it’s time to leave. Service is good and friendly but we have to ask for salt twice, and not once is our wine poured for us. Overall, €200 is a bit steep, we will return, but...
Read moreBooked a group dinner here for 30 people in April 2024. We arrived on the Friday evening when our booking was for the Saturday (very much our mistake). The lady on the desk told us she couldn’t seat us that night but would cancel our booking for the Saturday so the food we had pre-ordered wouldn’t be prepared and we could hopefully get at least a partial refund on the ~€3K we had paid.
The lady clearly didn’t pass on the message, as we received calls from the restaurant the following night as we were heading to the airport, asking us when we would arrive. As the message hadn’t been passed on as promised, the food had been prepared and the booking team told us we therefore wouldn’t be eligible for any refund. This is in line with their terms, but a bit frustrating for such a large sum of money having been told by the desk on arrival that they would cancel and see what they could do about a refund given the honest mistake.
The booking team was initially responsive over WhatsApp, but have had radio silence for the last month.
The 4 people from our group who did manage to eat at the restaurant later than night said the food was underwhelming and...
