La Tasca — Restaurant in Alicante

This bar has one of the warmest welcomes I have ever had in any country. There is a lovely family feel and they fully engage with visitors. It is a small compact and cosy bar, which adds to the appeal. We were grateful to try the special tinto de verano that was made for us. The tapas was great with nice jamon provided. There is a TV available to watch the football and with the family vibe, there will be plenty of laughter....

This place was amazing, a little hidden gem. My friend and I went in search of a casual tapas bar but instead we were met with such warmth by Mateo and Candela — they told us what food they had, greeted us with such warmth and treated us like one of them. Very welcoming little bar. Although it saw a recent change of ownership and some of the photos do not apply anymore, don’t let this discourage you. It is a tiny place with a great atmosphere. The food is Argentinian in inspiration. I recommend the delicious Argentinian “Tarta” if you are not a meat eater. Cash only, no card...
