PROYECTO ESPAÑOL Alicante - Study Spanish in Alicante — Local services in Alicante

Thank you so much for the past two weeks in Proyecto Espanol ! I have really enjoyed the experience ! With a fantastic host family! Sunday’s lunch of Paella was fantastic and a real treat and I have felt so lucky to be so well so looked after by my hosts & they have been fantastic and I cannot praise them highly enough !

With regard to the classes and the school, again this has been really good and I really enjoyed meeting many different people from around the world, both in lessons and the evening activities and I particularly enjoyed the "intercambio" activity each week ! These activities I have felt have really improved my speaking listening and understanding of Spanish greatly.

With regard to the two daily clases, I really preferred and enjoyed the conversation and culture one, which was the second class of the day. as the teacher showed real entusiuasm and brought real fun to the lessons doing such a range of different activties which I feel is impressive, since we were all from different nationalties and all at different points of spanish understanding.

The first class was the grammar one, which I know is a little boring, but essential for learning, however,I felt at times we were talked at a lot, and as a teacher myself there could have been more ways to learn this, than just through the textbook and the associated activties as we seemed to just listen a lot to her talking about the verbs, grammar, conjugation etc .

Finally, thank you so much for all your help and support.

I am very intrested in staying again next year perhaps for 3 weeks in February 2021!

Not really a language school - more lika a factory placed on 3 different locations - but not far apart. Many long term students (1 year) and maybe the school funcion well for them. I cannot recomend short time studies here - no real introduction to platform, most theory material on platform and most excercises as well, no possibility to solve excersices online or send homework to teacher - only corrections on paper. So a complete mixture online, papers and solutions in notebook Teachers use the online platform in different ways. Material and online platform are very amateur-like Generally teachers are OK - and some are superior. It appeal to me that the program should be followed - no matter the students. (Exceptions are Oscar an Raquel). Lots of different teachers - in my case 4 or 5 would be ok - but I had to cope with 7. A lot of students does not meet on time. Normally reel class starts 5-10 minutes late, and students meet up to half an hour late (once 57 minutes). So often up to ½ an hour is wasted on a class of nettet 2 ½ hour. This is not OK since It appears that the school does not handle this. Teachers tried more times, on suggestion from me. to comment on this - without any change.

But: cheap courses, nice and clean toilets, nice but small classrooms, small common areas, OK accomodation in flat. Alicante is not a very interesting city - sorry. I will not be back.

Weekly review of teachers are...

Hello, teachers, method and overall ambience of the school and classes really good. I took 1 star away because there were administration problems: 1) Schedule of my online 1-2-1 classes - I didn't receive any link or information on where the online class happens and I was waiting on Skype for someone to contact me, it happened with the first 2 lessons, which than were compensated on the other days, which given I took vacation for that wasn't very optimal; 2) Diploma for DELE exam - at the end of on-site course I did a DELE exam, which I passed, few months later I got results from Instituto Cervantes confirming I passed. I contacted school 6 months later - diploma was not yet at the school and I was promised they will get back to me when they get it, unfortunately 1 year passed and nobody contacted me. I asked again recently and was told diploma is there, but I was asked to organize a courier myself - which I never experienced with any other school and I did quite some exams before - and never had this kind of issue, I also contacted directly Instituto Cervantes and they confirmed by email that handling the diploma is purely responsibility of the exam center (which in my case was Proyecto Esp in Alicante) - only after I escalated the administration organized sending of the diploma by a registered mail.
