Pekin Garden — Restaurant in Arona

We read the Google reviews on this place and it looked amazing. There was a few bad ones but We went in. customer service was amazing . We had starters chicken soup , I had a Chinese tea then BBQ ribbs along side our main meal which was plain noodles , crispy beef , beef in black bean sauce and chicken balls in sweet and sour sauce. Everything went down well although I have had alot better. When I started eating the chicken balls a overwhelming taste was in my mouth I immediately spat my chicken ball out and smelt it. It had a sweet off smell that made me heave and I was almost sick. I asked my partner to also smell the chicken ball and also to taste one .. she experienced the same overwhelming taste and felt sick. I discretely went to the billing area in the restaurant as it was full of customers and I didn't want them to hear. Straight away a member of staff said its sweet and sour nothing is wrong it's the sauce. I asked him to taste one which he did with a funny face and said see its fine. I then asked him to get the chief who did not make a appearance at all .. I definitely no good chicken to off rotton chicken as I have been a chief myself and definitely no my food There was a agreement to take the chicken balls off the bill but for the fact the smell and rotton taste spoilt the whole meal I offered a part payment. I will not be eating hear ever again and I advise people to stay away as they rely on people who are drunk , intoxicated or on drugs to sell below standard food to. Where do I start with this amazing business, first thing first I wanna thank the owners for putting up with me and my friends for 4 nights 😂.

Firstly the food itself is incredibly amazing, Chicken Curry and soup was out of this world, by the quality of how it's made you can tell right away everything is made fresh and cooked properly!

Huge shout out to you guys, you made my friends and I feel right at home and I like how you asked if at the start if we'd be paying together or separately, nothing more worse when you go to a restaurant then they just expect you to pay together then get all moody when you want to pay separately. Also a really nice touch at the end of the meal especially on the last night when the owner gave us a free shot and he had one too I felt that was a good way to end our holiday!

This was a very pleasant surprise for me to find. I really like Asian food and couldn't wait to try it out here. I was so glad they had take out so I could bring it back to the place we were staying. The staff there were very pleasant and friendly. The food was good! I had vegetable chow mein noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and spring rolls. The sweet and sour chicken was so good. The noodles were good. The spring rolls tasted good, but were very greasy. More greasy than I have ever had. It might have been an off day for the spring rolls, or if they are just that greasy, just keep that in mind if you are sensitive to greasy foods. It still tasted good. Oh, they do have meat in them.
