Restaurante Chapo — Restaurant in Arrecife

We were looking for somewhere to eat at Charco de San Ginés after watching the King's parade in Arrecife. Chapó had caught my eye previously and as they had a free table we decided to give it a go. We were welcomed and extra chairs found so the 4 of us could be seated. Our drinks service was quick throughout the evening, however our food experience was different.

It took a long time to place the order, then even longer before the food arrived. My Chapó burger was the first dish to arrive to the envy of my companions. It was a bit embarrassing to be eating whilst they were waiting, thankfully the caesar salad arrived not too long after which they shared along with my chips. A half portion of the seafood cazuela was brought to the table. When the plates were being cleared from our table, we explained we were still waiting for two dishes - a half portion of puntillas and the fried fish platter. At this point we were just going to request the bill for what we'd had and leave, when the missing dishes arrived.

All of the food was good, great portion sizes and prices with half or full rations available for many of their dishes. The waiter service was friendly throughout. Our experience could just have been down to that particular night given that everyone was out...

Stopped by on way back to cruise ship in search for some canaries potatoes. Couldn't find menu in English lucky do speak Spanish so managed to translate for partner and couldn't find a drinks list. Canary potatoes was very tasty and a good sized portion. Sangria was ok had frozen fruit inside and €16 for it a bit expensive. Pizza on the table opposite looked really authentic and maybe something to try if we was passing by again. I'd visit again and recommend but...

Beautiful spot located on the harbour side of Arricife. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I was in Arricife for 3 days, I visited once a day. Highly recommended as it's worth the time. Full star rating not given only due till the time it took for the drinks to arrive after order was placed. This may not be the case if you are ordering a simple drink as opposed to cocktails. Nevertheless, they were good...
