Japanese style barbeque typically serves thinly sliced meats and vegetables and the best one would be Wagyu beef over a special type of charcoal called binchotan charcoal. This Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant serves European and Japanese (Miyazaki Perfecture) Wagyu beef. We went there for lunch and tried three Yakiniku menus, namely Menu Osaka, Menu Tokyo and Wagyu Special Menu. The cheapest Menu Osaka had beef rib-eye, skirt steak and brisket together with pork (Iberico shoulder) and chicken breast. The Menu Tokyo had Wagyu Miyazaki rib-eye from Japan, premium ox tongue plis pork and chicken while the most expensive Wagyu Special Mene included 2 slices of Wagyu Miyazaki rib-eye, 4 pieces of rib-eye, 2 pieces of skirt steak, 2 pieces of brisket (marinated) and 2 pieces of ox tongue plus a few pieces of vegetables like asparagus and cucumber. All menus are served with miso soup, salad, kimicho and steamed rice. As the beef is thinnly sliced, it is important not to over-cook them, especially for the ox tongue, it will get very tough if well-done. You just need to put the meat over fire for a couple of seconds. As expected, the wagyu from Japan melt in the mouth though it'd have been better of the meat flavour was stronger. Overall, except the chicken breast, all meats tasted delicious, tender and juicy. And it was fun to cook by yourself as well. For some people, like Westerners or meat lovers, may find the portion of set menus not sufficent to fill their empty stomach but for us Asian they were just fine. Of course they can order extra servings but it will get expensive. The menus may seem a bit pricy but if you know how expensive wagyu beef, even European wagyu and not to mention wagyu from Japan, is in Europe, you would find it reasonable. Further more, the restaurant is well decorated, spacious, tables are large and service was friednly though it was a bit surreal to have an European waiter serving Japanese dishes to a few Asian customers. They also serve other Japanese dishes like sushi and sashimi, and have a balanced drink lists of Japanese beer, sake, shochu, cocktails, plum wine, gin and whisky plus Spanish sparkling, red and white wines. A highly recommended place for an authentic Japanese Yakiniku...

Let me start with a confession—I completely forgot to take pictures of the Wagyu Special Set at AH-UN Japonès BBQ i Sushi. That is how dangerously good it was. I was so focused on grilling, savoring, and trying not to cry happy tears that my phone sat untouched until dessert. (I did snap a photo of that—priorities, right? 😜)
Now, let us talk about the star of the show. This set is a carnivore’s dream: rib-eye from Miyazaki, tri-tip from Satsuma, picanha, skirt steak, brisket, and premium ox tongue. Each cut hit the grill like it knew it was about to change my life. The rib-eye? Melted in my mouth like butter. The picanha? Crispy edges, juicy center—an actual masterpiece. And the ox tongue? So tender it deserves its own award. Do not skip it—trust me.
But let us keep it real—this place is not where you casually drop by after work unless your wallet has a personal trainer. It is pricey. Like, "maybe-I-will-eat-instant-noodles-for-the-rest-of-the-week" pricey. That said, for birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations where you want to treat yourself like royalty? Absolutely worth it.
If you are looking for an excuse to splurge—or happen to be Richie Rich (in which case, invite me next time)—this place is the spot. And next time? I will take photos of the meat before inhaling...

I recently visited this Japanese BBQ gem in Barcelona, and it completely exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern design.
The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff guided us through the menu, explaining the best grilling techniques for each dish, which added an interactive and fun element to the meal.
Now, the food: absolutely outstanding. The quality of the meats was exceptional—each cut was fresh, perfectly marbled, and melted in your mouth. The variety of marinades and dipping sauces elevated every bite. The side dishes and starters, like the miso soup and kimchi, were equally delicious and complemented the BBQ perfectly.
What truly stood out was the attention to detail. Everything was prepared with care, and the flavors were authentic and well-balanced. It felt like a genuine Japanese BBQ experience, right in the heart of Barcelona.
If you’re a fan of high-quality meats, interactive dining, and unforgettable flavors, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back soon—this is now one of my favorite spots...
