A few days ago, my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary 🥰. It was an atypical celebration this year cause we really have a lot on our plate, my wife had to work that day and she's on a pretty strict diet. But we still found a way to have lunch together. 🥳 She told me she didn't have to be that strict that day, but I know it's important for her so I looked for a suitable place. And I found Asador de Aranda, which I knew also was a place on her bucket list. As for me, I had been there many years ago, but I couldn't remember anything (which often isn't a good sign). 🤷♂️ The food was ok. There were things that I liked, others that I liked less. The price was quite high: we paid €80+ with no drinks and no desserts (but too much food). 😕 The venue was cold, in all ways, mainly because it was empty. 👎 And since it was empty there were no excuses for a bad service. Unfortunately, the service was disastrous. 😢 We had to wait almost 5 minutes in the lobby for somebody to say hello. Then we were brought to our table, the only one out of probably 20 that was next to another occupied (and noisy) table. Why did they have to sit us there?! 😠 We asked for details about certain dishes and then we could hear our waiter complaining to another one about our questions. And we had to wait a very long time (maybe 30 minutes) between the starters and the main course, which probably is why I had the sensation that there was too much food. After 30 minutes, the body is already processing the food so you should not be eating anymore. 😨 We have friends who are in love with that chain (they have many venues in Spain), and Based on this experience, I really don't get it. 👎

Read moreTHE BIGGEST SCAM I have ever seen. Im spanish, living in Barcelona. I’m from another big city in Spain where there is another restaurant of Asador del Aranda. In my city, the restaurant was outstanding that’s why I decided to take my french friends to this one. Big mistake. The restaurant in Pau Claris is clearly adapted to the tourist that does not known really what should be the quality and presentation of each plate. They give an extremely poor service, slow, not smiling and with no knowledge about the products or plates they are serving, they didn’t even speak spanish or english properly, in the city center of BCN!!! The surprise started with the prices of Dubai, in my opinion completely inflated and out of the market to take advantge of the foreign tourists that will pay whatever is requested thinking they are in a traditional Asador from Spain when they are not (very bad favour too for our image outside for those eating there). The quantities were ridiculous, again completely against the spanish tradition. The meat were served with no sides (they charge for it apart) when EVERY meat in spain is served with french fries and /Or salad (if it is not a txuletón a la piedra of 30€/kg, and even that plate is coming with this sides very often). The quality of the food in general was very normal (for the price for sure) and the experience was everything but pleasant. If you are looking for a real asador experience, this is...
Read moreThis is a restaurant that serves only to local Spanish, so if you are a tourist, please don't even think of going to try their food as I can tell you and confirm with 200% that you will be disappointed with the food and especially the waiter service which is of ZERO star. To begin with, this restaurant is filled with eccentric waiters to my observations. it seems that by rejecting a champaign drink has triggered his anger n the waiter slammed a plate of olives onto the table with great anger... totally bewildered by this, what follows next is his strange attitude and I hate to say it but it seems that there is a different set of treatments to spanish vs tourist... as confirmed by other one star review on Google map (if you scroll and search via lowest review, it is very consistent since some time ago) I reckon such behaviour must have been acknowledged and seen acceptable by his manager who is a plump spanish female. So..here is my conclusion to you if you are reading this - If u are a tourist, please skip this at ALL COST unless you wish to spend your money and suffer with such behaviour. This restaurant DOES NOT NEED your money, they can survive on the local spending. They do not even deserve the one star on Google map. And PLEASE read all the one star review for this restaurant before you decide as these reviews are amazingly consistent. DO NOT BE A PATRON TO A...
