Just incredible! This little restaurant is hard to put in words as the sensation you get out of it is so unbelievably intense and immaculate. We were just looking for some typical spanish food, since we are tourists and somehow by the grace of god were lucky enough to stumble across this truly beautiful place. Greeted with a smile and a very nice service we received our drinks and waited for our food as the menu is not to big and confusing tho still makes you think what you want. We received our appetizer which was (just) nachos. As we looked at the plate our eyes started to sparkle. It was as if you could see the nightsky in all its glory in their reflection. We took a bite and it felt like the world with all its problems just disappeared. We couldnt believe how something so simple tasted so incredible. With every bite you could feel your dopamin levels rising as if you were chewing on the blessings of angel. I tried to keep my hopes down for the main menu thinking they couldnt top what just happend for a million bucks. And there it was… My vegetable burrito in all its glory. With a beutiful crust and a perfectly poured beer beside it i was reborn. It is impossible to explain what kind of joy i was feeling biting into what could only be described as something magical. The location is very cozy and the price was surprisingly good. I just want to thank the owner cook and waiter for this truly immaculate experience for it was one you only get once in your lifetime except you go there...

I’ve been in Barcelona as a first time traveller for a week now and Azul Frida in Raval has been among the best restaurant experiences I’ve had here. I could have eaten here every day during this trip. Tacos, nachos, cocktails, beers - everything was truly excellent. If I ever return to Barcelona I will absolutely be coming back here. At both my visits I was helped by Olesia and Jota, who both made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller, and who also spoke excellent English. We joked around and they were so happy to see me enjoying my time. Oh - and the hot sauces - there are three of them and they are all truly excellent. I will have dreams of their hottest sauce perhaps for the rest of my life. It had this incredible nutty/savoury flavour with a considerable heat that comes in on the back end, so you can appreciate the flavour fully before the heat sets in. If this were jarred and sold back home (Canada), it would be a goldmine.
