This hotel was absolutely a steal and much better than I anticipated. I would absolutely stay here again. ||For most of our hotel stays, we went super budget friendly….but for this stay, we decided to splurge a bit and it was worth it ($260 a night). Please keep in mind we stayed here twice; once at the beginning of our trip for four nights, then we went to Croatia and came back for two more nights. ||For the first leg, we were greeted by Joan, and for our second leg of the trip, we were greeted by Maria and Marela upon arrival; all three were friendly, checked us in fast, and had a great smile! Thanks for making us feel at home. ||We received a coupon both stays for a complimentary glass of cava which we used at the rooftop bar. Both bartenders we had (forgot their names) are very nice and make great cocktails. ||The rooms are very nice, spacious and clean. I was actually very surprised bc most hotels in Europe can be small; the rooms here are more like the size of rooms in the U.S. Before coming back for the second leg, I emailed the hotel to see if I could stay in the same exact room we had for the first leg, but they were not able to accommodate my request. Instead, they upgraded us to a SUITE! Oh, each stay, they also give you a complimentary bottle of red wine which was yummy! ||There is also a small gym. No one was ever there but us, so it was perfect. There are three machines (one treadmill, one bike, one elliptical) along with some free weights.||For security, you need your room key to operate the elevator. ||The hotel is located on La Rambla and is walking distance to everything imaginable. Designer shopping area is about a 15-20 min walk, the boqueria/market is a 4-min walk. There are train stations on just about every corner. You are surrounded by a bunch of good eats within a 7-12 min walk. ||If you want to uber or cabify, don’t request pickup at the hotel bc most will not want to pick up in this busy area. We just walked out to an area that is more open for pickups; we would often walk to Zara on Pelai (there are Zaras everywhere but this was the closest one about 2 mins from hotel). Here, there is a wide area where cabs and ubers/cabifys do their pickups. ||Anyway, this hotel was great! I would definitely...

Read moremy wife and i stayed here arriving on the 12th of aug and departing on the 16th of aug. When we received our room(606) there was water pouring from the ceiling in the bathroom down the walls. We called reception and they sent a maintenance man who started disconnecting piping overhead after 15 mins he said it was fixed. Then we realised the toilet was not working so i went to reception who said they would fix the toilet as soon as possible and this was at 4.20pm .
we had got the room at 3.45 pm i refused this and my wife and i demanded to be moved after much arguing at reception we were moved to 612. This was half the size of our original room and we refused this after waiting another 20 mins we were moved to room 302 but the reception staff member stated he would have to check if the room was clean.
He made a call and stated it was clean at this stage we just wanted a room. When we got to the room the beds were made but the room was dirty the walls beside the bed were black, the bathroom walls were black and the floor outside the bath was damaged and dangerous and the bath and shower were not cleaned so we cleaned them ourselves!
There was a knock on our door and it was the porter (mr ashraf mohammed) with a bottle of wine and fruit platter to apologise for all the trouble we had. I would like to add that mr ashraf was so helpful during our stay along with one member of reception staff mr david martin we dealt with other staff when we first arrived with all the issues we had who were not helpful.ily
We didnt not report room 302 as at this stage we had wasted hours and just put up with it. We have stayed numerous times in barcelona in various hotels and this was by far the worst bear in mind this is a 4 star hotel! and was not cheap.
We are extremely dissapointed as it affected our holiday.
