Some regular older staff are always welcoming. Accommodating and rendering a good service with a smile. Unfortunately, some new staff are poorly trained. Rude and disrespectful. Had a new guy answering me disrespectfully on bad terms when I asked if they would still serve bikinis (a ham and cheese sandwich) at the time I arrived (7 PMish) as I'm a regular client and had the impression it was only in the morning. He said confusingly but immediately arrogantly (as if asking for a ham and cheese sandwich was too low level for such a cafe), as I couldn't initially understand, that "only in the cafe by the side" (hay en el cafe al lado; instead of suggesting something else from his own cafe!) but, there's no cafe by the side in the direction he was pointing at, that's a hotel and also the door to get in the Bar Lobo itself as I used to live just around the corner. So he transforms my valid question of "qué cafe al lado?" (But what cafe here by the side?) into "que me estas hablando cagada" (translate yourself what it means) and immediately escalated for no reason as if he was in a market yelling, in front of all his clients on the terrace, to which I was left gobsmacked with his unprofessionalism. Sorry, but what kind of unprofessional behavior is this? Rude, disrespectful, and ignorant. Fire this disrespectful individual immediately! He has no basic education or client-centric skills to be in such a role dealing with clients. He thinks he's talking from balcony to balcony with a neighbor in his hood. I also didn't like the dismissive way the manager disregarded my complaints, as if he was broking a disagreement between not a client and a provider of a service but between two staff members. He allowed the staff to continue to nag me inside the bar in front of everyone, talking as if he were in the market selling groceries, yelling, and even touching me and he should have told him to withdraw immediately. Unfortunately, it's the second time in two weeks that recently embedded staff answered in bad manners to legitimate, politely asked questions, which is unfortunate. I'm not going after a day of work to a place to relax to be mistreated and spend my money in the process. Very poor training and...

DISGUSTING treatment. I live in Barcelona and eat all over the city. What I experienced today was possibly the worst service I’ve ever seen.

On the 29th of April family came to visit me and I decided to go here. I’ve ate here maybe 5 times in the past with other locals and the service has been fine, but this time it was absolutely horrid.

To start, the waitress sat us down. Told her it was a table for 4.

We sit down, take out time to order, decide on just some drinks and a couple of tapas.

The waitress abruptly tells us “ITS LUCH TIIME YOU MUST ORDER A MEAL”. So I apologise and say we’re not so hungry, then she huffs and walks off. So we think that we’re not going to be served, my family we’re mortified by the attitude, are about to leave, (my dad actually walked off) - she then turns around and huffs again and laughs to herself, tells us to then sit down and that it’s suddenly ok.

The funny part about this too, is that there were PLENTY of other people just with drinks. One man, just with a water, but is it’s a problem? Why, because my family are guiris?

Tapas comes, drinks come, fine.

We then think it’s better to drink and eat quick and pay, just so we’re not hogging the place for lunchtime eaters. We’re in and out in less than 20 minutes.

As we go to pay, the waiter (male this time) comes and DELIBERATELY starts imitating my families accent in a condescending, disgusting way. It honestly made me feel sick. Absolutely unprofessional. Some would argue racist.

Summary- Been here probably 5 times in the past, constantly recommended friends who live here as well, will never ever come...

Having just arrived at our hotel, the Le Méridien and it was too late for lunch, but too early for dinner, we asked the concierge where to grab good food and she suggested Bar Lobo. This tapas place is right across the street from the hotel, so it’s a simple and quick walk. We got there around 5PM and they were packed, but a table had just cleared when we walked in, so we got seated immediately. The staff took a while to come to the table, but once they did, we got excellent and very prompt attention the rest of our dining experience. We started with their Iberico Ham which comes with tomato bread and it was excellent! Best ham I’ve ever had! Next was there garlic prawns and they were so tasty, especially if you grab a piece of garlic and a pepper – yum! The potatoes bravas we bland and boring, but with hot sauce they tasted decent. Their tempura asparagus was also on the bland side, as the romesco sauce wasn’t very well seasoned. They do have some nice wines to choose from and everything came out lightening fast. The service was absolutely excellent! Highly recommend coming here!

We are satisfied with service, food and interior. You can find tasty food for affordable prices. Chilling modern atmosphere. Laconic and stylish. All the waiters are professional, they are nearby when you need them, without annoying with extra attention. Mima was our waiter, professional and friendly. Thank you 🎄 For managers and owners: If you decorate this place with something special for atmosphere, as this Christmas tree is now, you’ll always attract your customers and be among the best. For example, some flowers statue or golden decorations statue etc, high as this Arbre Nadal is. Maybe if you make different prices for desserts people will buy more often. 7,5 is a good price, but if you have macarons or sth 2,5 euros each, it would be nice to have one with coffee. A cup of nuts as an alternative. To find something where you can make your benefit but still not very expensive for everyday coffee, dessert. Thank you for this experience.

5 stars isn’t enough. Come for breakfast. Come for dinner. Two different menus. BOTH PHENOMENAL!!! I only took one photo and regret not taking photos of all our food. Breakfast; eggs benny, poached egg on avocado toast, gazpacho, fruit bowl, croissants, churchill, cappuccino’s…. All amazing! Dinner; ceviche, the best thing EVER! Tuna tataki, potatoes, lobo burger, fish n chips, carpaccio…. All AMAZING! In the photo is the dessert, french toast with creme de leche ice cream… drool!!!! The thin apple pie has cinnamon ice cream is amazing, the pie part wasn't the best, but it was ok. The staff are amazing. The manager works all day, and is so great. Jimena served us, she was fabulous. In 3 days we came here for 2 breakfasts and one dinner…. And still have 2 days left in Barcelona. We are 7 people ranging from 2-76 and we were alllll super impressed!
