I don’t leave bad reviews as I always believe only say good but after tonight I’m so disgusted. I live in the barrio and drink here often and actually celebrated my birthday here. The bar staff have always been amazing! But tonight I joined my 3 male friends only for a drink and they had eaten. One of my friends didn’t like the pinchos and said they tasted old and out of date and he didn’t want to pay for them. This was between him and the staff and I had only one wine. However, the owner I assume was so rude to me when I tired to pay for my drink. He swore at me and it was very much female Aimed insults . He swore and took his anger at my friend out at me. Saying I ate and didn’t want to pay even though I only had a drink. I feel it’s because I was the only female he targeted me as it made no sense to me to shout at me when I wasn’t refusing to pay and I hadn’t eaten. He then went one step further by taking a photo of me. Again I wasn’t the problem. I’m thankful my friend filmed all of this and I was in two minds on posting this on here. But to go to a bar for a drink to be sworn at by the owner and have my photo illegally taken without my permission.. even the bar staff apologised. Stay away. Bar staff are amazing but the owner was an...
Read moreVery nice experience. The first time I visited was out of necessity to wait close to an address where i had to go. Didn't eat anything then but enjoyed the atmosphere (interior and music). Second time I visited was with my family and it was after we tried some of the bigger pinxos bars on the street. Needless to say that if we liked the quality of any of the other places we wouldn't have reached Bota bar. When we went the music was as nice as I remember, there was a smaller selection of tapas/ pinxos available however what we tried was much, much nicer compared to the previous places that day. We had a blast, it was afternoon but we had drinks, danced and had good food. The service was also good. Before leaving I noticed more trays with tapas been taken out of the kitchen and they looked and smelled amazing. Will be definitely...
Read moreDuring a visit to Barcelona my partner and I stumbled into this Tapas/Pinchos/Empanada Bar. Everything about this bar is spectacular. The essentials of a bar, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere were all 5 stars. But the reason we went back every night of our trip was easily the bartenders. Valentino was one of our best experiences about Spain. He was warm, inviting, kept us laughing and made sure everytime we walked into La Bota we were going to have a fantastic night. I can't say enough about Valentino and the rest of the staff.
Also the best emanadas in Spain, and a ton of unique takes on the Tapas/Pinchos. The live music on one of the nights was also an amazing touch.
If you are in Barcelona for a trip, La...
