bohl — Restaurant in Barcelona

The ambiance of Bohl and the quality of the food is amazing, but unfortunately the calm, peaceful and clean concept they are trying to express is not very much lived by some of the employees.

There was a delivery person waiting for at least 30 minutes and 1 person in the crew treated him as dirt. When the guy asked 2 times where his order was staying, they were ignoring him which came across as a lack of respect to human beings. Later it ended up with a strong argument, in the middle of the restaurant, with him where the employee didn't keep her cool.... Next time, offer the guy a glass of water, take him seriously or if you can't handle the extra orders by delivery companies, shut down your the machine to stop the orders coming in (this is possible!!).

Next to the incident with the delivery guy, the business came across as immature in running it. Orders went wrong, tables not cleaned, long lines across the restaurant with people for take away coffee. We've waited for at least 30 minutes for a simple coffee and avocado toast.

I think this place has a lot of potential. But personally for me, treating people, no matter their background/race/ethnicity/job, with respect is something so fundamental that I felt a bit sad when leaving. Such a pretty concept, but basic values not...

I recently visited Bohl Wholesome Kitchen in Barcelona and had an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we sat down, the staff was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unhelpful. We chose a table outside and were immediately approached by a woman staff member who rudely told us we couldn’t sit there without ordering first. I politely explained that I thought they would take our order outside, but she abruptly informed me (in a very unfriendly manner) that’s not how it works.

I tried to move past the rudeness and proceeded to go inside to place my order, but to my surprise, her attitude only worsened. She took my order with complete disrespect, lacking any sense of customer service or basic manners. When I pointed out that better service should be provided, she was dismissive and continued her unprofessional behavior.

As for the food, it was nothing special—mediocre at best. Given the poor service and average food, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The atmosphere was ruined by the uneducated and unprofessional attitude of the staff. There are plenty of better options in Barcelona where you can enjoy a meal without being treated...

Beautiful place, delicious tea, decent food. But they have a reoccurring theft problem. We visited this cafe on a weekday right at opening (around 9:00 am). Our backpack was stolen soon after sitting down. When we were asking the workers about suggested next steps, they were noticeably upset. They told us that this was definitely not the first time tourists have been stolen from and targeted inside their cafe. It’s understandably frustrating for business owners to deal with, but we wish they would have done more.

It was obviously not their fault that our belongings were stolen. But we would have really appreciated seeing a stronger effort on their part to warn customers of pick pockets and thieves preying on people eating/ordering at their establishment. Especially if they’ve been dealing with this problem a lot, some sort of sign/written warning would be appreciated. It’s also just an issue in the city in general, but...
