Casa de Menjars Buenavista — Restaurant in Barcelona

I read the comments below before going to the restaurant and expected something like that. I immediately told the waiter that I would also leave a comment. Let's get started.. Reservations are required. At first, they gave me a menu in an incomprehensible language, but we spoke English, but I can understand that, the waiter was probably tired, or did not pay attention - the human factor:

Desserts and the main course with chicken were very tasty. Rice was ordinary, a little lacking in salt. Overall, it was not worth the money. The second appetizer in the photo is not salty enough and very greasy, overall it was tasteless. I liked the buratta.

Everyone brings it slowly, despite the fact that the load was not large. I asked the waiter for the menu 3 times. And by the 3rd time I was already pretty angry. I'm not full yet, I want to make an order, but I don't get the right menu, although when I asked for the menu the first time, the waiter was 2 steps away, why not give me the menu right away?

I am working in hospitality and I understand perfectly well how some things should be.

The waiter comes to us and simultaneously communicates with the next table, and I don't understand this at all. I came to eat, and the only thing I want is to eat and quickly, I'm not interested in listening to how the waiter communicates with guests at the next table and simultaneously prepares service for me. I have never seen anything like this anywhere. This is inappropriate and disrespectful to the guest.

We had a really lovely experience here. For sure the best salad I've ever had, the produce was super fresh and the vinaigrette was magnificent with it. The tomato toast was light and flavourful. Even though we had potato omelet all week, this one was superb, melt in your mouth. My beef steak was cooked perfectly, and the foie gras was absolutely divine. The mashed potatoes my mother had were also so smooth and buttery with the pork. She enjoyed it so so much, as honestly, she doesn't usually go for pork. The drinks were delicious and a good portion size. Everything was really well done. The desserts were really a beautiful way to end the meal, wow- not overly sweet and well executed. The manager is such a character and truly elevated our experience as a mother daughter duo for the evening. Even though he had multiple large business groups to simultaneously attend to, we felt cared for and he was personable. The atmosphere is really modern, clean and bright. I loved the tiles on the walls, beautiful colours. It's simple food that is just made with authenticity and thoughtfulness. We are truly grateful and would love to come back in the future. The restaurant at the Casa Buenavista Hotel was exceptional. During my stay at the hotel, I decided to have lunch there due to the very hot weather, and I was in for a treat! The food was incredible—everything was fresh and delicious.

My favorite dish was the tomato salad, which had an extremely fresh taste, complemented by capers and very soft onions. When I asked for some bread, it arrived as freshly baked sourdough. The combination of the salad's flavors and the bread was perfect.

I also tried the grilled squid, which was perfectly cooked—super soft and juicy. I could order another portion again and again. My compliments to the chef for doing such a great job!

The team at the restaurant was also impressive. The staff was super friendly, smiling, and quick to assist. It was a pleasure to receive such great service, making me feel almost at home.

I'm happy I chose to stay at the hotel rather than exploring other dining options. It was a real delight! Thank you, and I would...
