It is almost 4 stars to me. I can only say that our experience was only 3 star. Had a lovely stay at the hotel but it just lacked a 4 star experience. Decor was definately a classy 4 star. But it’s the small things that let it down. We stayed in room 504. This is a 5 floor hotel. No gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, Spa or bar. What can be improved? In a tripple room for 2 parents and a child it... only has 2 glasses? Should be 3 glasses. I’m sure the staff would have given an extra glass had we have asked... but the point is it should have been there. Toilet door is stylish smoked glass with no lock mechanism. It’s a family tripple room and parents don’t want children walking in whilst theyre in the bathroom. I’m sure there is a suitable solution to this lock problem without ruining the stylishness of the bathroom door. Key card for room has a printing error. There is a black semi-circle on the edge of the keycard which is to signify where you should hold the card whilst inserting it in the slot... it’s on the wrong edge. Breakfast is the most limited I’ve seen at a 4 star hotel. Croissants, toast, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, a few cereals and juices. All little things so far. Big error is ... they have the scrambled egg and sausages in the same serving dish which automatically prevents Jewish and muslim people from enjoying the scrambled eggs. Not good if youre trying to get middle-eastern customers. The tongs to pick the sausages should be kept separate to the spoon you get scrambled eggs for kosher/halal reasons. Trip advisor says that hotel offers massages... wrong. Also, no information on cost of items in mini-bar. Coffee machine in breakfast area for is only there until 11am... after which it’s €3 a cup. No in room tea/coffee supply this is a big issue for loads if you read previous reviews by others. Overall this is a good pitstop hotel beautifully decorated. If you plan on being out all day and using the hotel as a base, then book it. It’s centrally located and is an easy commute to most tourist sites. Hotel Advance do often respond to reviews left by customers with ‘we will take note/ endeavor to make improvements’ but from the reviews left by other previous customers over the last few years, they seem to have failed to address any of the issues. Management need to get a grip. Before reviews like this start affecting business. Thank you for your...

The staff was very friendly, informative and helpful from "Hello/Hola". They took our bags and put them into locked storage until our room was ready; they pointed out the breakfast buffet (more on that); and offered ideas on nearby places we could walk to/visit while we waited.|The breakfast was an experience from another world. Fresh squeezed juices, fresh fruits and avocado, cereals, breads, meats, lox, cheeses, eggs, sausage, potato, fresh tomatoes...and more. It truly represented my idea of a 'luxury buffet' in a unique and quiet environment. The menu varied slightly each day but was consistently awesome and enjoyable. The attendant was very efficient and proficient in keeping the selections full, fresh and clean.|Earlier than the appointed check-in time the room was ready. We went up and found a very nice, well-appointed and comfortable room with a refrigerator that was stocked - and open for use. Juices, wine, beer, soda, water - all ready for use and replaced as it was consumed.|The hotel was nicely centrally located, with plenty of features, stores, and sights within a reasonable walking distance. And, with 10,500 cabs in town, it was never a problem either having the desk call for one or going out into the street and hailing one.|Again, staff was phenomenal! They were on-the-ready to answer any question and assist with any request. I (negligently) didn't get the name of the young man with the beard who was on the desk, but I want a good 'shout-out' for him; and also for Noelia, who overcame all of the problems I was having with what should have been a simple on-line airline check-in. KLM's process and coordination with partner Delta just wasn't working for me.|The general condition of the hotel was very good-to-excellent, and clean. The 'sitting area' featured some terrific settee's, tables, reading and local information books and information, and quiet!|And there was an occasional bottle of wine and glasses awaiting anyone who wanted to have a sip.|This was our first 'European' hotel stay. I don't know how well it compares with others. But until I find anywhere that beats it, Casa Elliot will be the...
Read moreStayed in Casa Elliot from Saturday 16th to Wednesday 20th August. ||Great location near Placa de catalunya & the gothic quarter. ||Overall very pleased with our stay. We had tried to book a number of hotels and only Casa Elliot guaranteed us a twin room for our son & daughter (20 & 17). We were on a different floor to them but it was fine.||The rooms are well appointed & complete with mini bar & air-conditioning which was great given fhe very warm weather. Bathrobes & slippers were nice.||The shower & bathroom were excellent. Rooms have tea & coffee making facilities. USB (A) sockets means you dont have to bring a 3 to 2 pin plug but no harm to bring one of you have one.||We chose not to eat breakfast at the hotel. The reason why we didn't have breakfast was purely a decision based on what we would eat & we didn't think we would eat adequately to justify the cost of breakfast per person. That is not a criticism of the hotel or their breakfast pricing or offering. ||The receptionists were extremely helpful & knowledgeable about everything we asked. We had left it too late to book Sagrada La Familia before travelling but the receptionist on Saturday managed to get us tickets for Sunday. We were extremely relieved and we would have been disappointed not to have seen the basilica. ||We were ready for food after our flight on Saturday. The receptionist gave us a superb recommendation of Fabrica Moritz beer factory, & restaurant which is literally 5mins walk from the hotel. Go there and try the chicken cooked over a can of beer!!! Prices are very reasonable for food & drinks. We had desert on our 2nd visit on Monday evening- the Swiss roll was superb.||There is a litte cafe bar at the corner on the way to Moritz. Its very popular with loads of people inside & out on the street any time we passed.||If you're not having breakfast at the hotel there are many cafes around. ||I would highly recommend Casa...
