Overall - 5.9/10
The service at the beginning was very weak. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we were left waiting for quite some time. Once we were seated, they didn’t bring us the menu, and I had to get up and ask for it myself. However, the service gradually improved throughout the meal.
Croquetes de Jamón - 2.1 The croquettes were the most recommended dish in the restaurant, yet we found them quite disappointing. While they were crispy on the outside, they were too soft inside with a greasy taste that resembled béchamel sauce.
Atomic Chicken Wings - 7.3 The presentation was creative (mimicking a cocktail), and the sauce was tasty. However, the wings had very little meat, which was disappointing given the price — a bit more meat would have been expected.
Garlic Bread with Tomato I didn’t try it myself, but it had an interesting Do-It-Yourself concept, and those who did try it enjoyed it a lot.
Paella - 4.8 It felt more like tomato sauce rice with green beans and cuttlefish (plus a few prawns). It lacked the essence and flavor fusion you’d expect from a proper paella. For the price we paid (€22 per person), I expected better quality. Additionally, it also took a lot of time to arrive (more than they said it would take). On a positive note, the portion was quite generous and ended up serving more people than we had originally...
Read moreWe came there to eat traditional spanish food. But we were quite disappointed 😞 The prices for the drinks were not on the menu, and retrospectively this should have been a warning. One big beer was 6€ and it was not a special one in a special location... Furthermore the prices were overall high. This would not have been a problem if the portion size would have been big. But we paid 11€ for one empanada which was really small. We also paid 11€ for a tortilla (omelette with cod) which was also really small. The chicken wings were okay for 7€. The bread was also okay but we had to pay 1,6 € for three slices which should be included for the price. Overall we had two beers, an empanada, one tortilla, chicken wings and a sausage with beans plus some olives and we payed 60€ for a normal spanish dinner...over all the price is okay for Barcelona I think and I do not expect cheap prices especially after the corona thing but for what you get we were quite...
Read moreWe have had so many good meals during our week in Barcelona. But we stumbled into this place because another choice was unavailable, and my group was getting impatient, so we pressed on to get a table. It was a mistake.
This business is targeted directly at tourists. The entire experience is extremely manufactured, and very tourist friendly. You will not find a local anywhere near this place. There are Coke logos everywhere, and the place gives the vibe of a TGI Fridays, or a Cheesecake Factory, or a themed restaurant at Disneyworld's Epcot. Would you put an Olive Garden in the middle of Milan? That's what they've done here. (Please forgive all of the American brand names. )
I would have been kinder with my review if the prices had not been high. We've had so many gourmet/quality tapas meals at prices lower than this. And we're OK with high prices if the food is great. But this food was...
