We are a couple of American residents who have been living in Barcelona for a couple of years, the multicultural city par excellence, so let's get to the point, 1 week ago we made a reservation for this special day 11/28/2024 for the Thanksgiving meal, Well, as soon as you get to the door there is a sign that says wait here until you are served, a blonde-haired waitress approaches and takes you to where she considers, "without asking anything" she sits you down and leaves you there, passing the time. 1 hour sitting there without being attended to, and the blonde-haired waitress walking from one side to the other moving her hair, looking at the flies in the air, keeping an eye on her phone on Instagram and WhatsApp, without realizing that she has to attend He just walks from one side to the other without doing anything, he only looks at the air if it's not because I ask him to take care of me because I want to eat perfectly, 3 hours pass and more, the special Thanksgiving menu is €30 for food and dessert, without drinks included, well we spend €90 on food, we can all have a bad day, we can all maybe not feel like working that day, we can all be distracted, but girl if some clients have a reservation via email, for the celebration of a " day "Thanksgiving special, if you're there it's to work and serve clients, that's what you're being paid for, you're not there looking pretty, moving your hair from one side to the other, looking at the phone and the flies passing by, zero warmth, zero empathy, zero professionalism, zero desire to work, of course, obviously we will not go to that restaurant again, obviously we will not recommend anyone, they have lost two potential clients. If the service was like this with a reservation, I don't want to imagine the other days what it will be like, when I left the restaurant, there is a Fornet cafeteria, I had 1 simple coffee, as soon as I arrived the clerk greeted me with a smile, and his cordiality, kindness and warmth, just 1 coffee completely changed all the bad service at that restaurant. See you never...
Read moreI booked a table at CocoVail well well in advance as my family were coming to visit and we wanted to celebrate me running Barcelona Marathon and to watch El Clásico together (Sunday 19th March).
I called multiple times to let the beer hall know we were running a few minutes late (walking post marathon isn't easy!) and there was no answer (I understand this can happen in busy times).
When we arrived and I asked a waitress for our table, less than 10 minutes later than the time of our reservation, the waitress told us they had checked with the manager and that they had given our table away because it was busy and we were late. The manager then was walking past, the waitress introduced her and the manager said, rushing and very unsympathetically, she was sorry but it was really busy and we were late. I replied that we had called to say we would be a little late but we are now here and she said there was nothing she could do.
Not only did we then have no place for dinner, or to watch the football, but I felt really embarrassed with my family as they had flown in to celebrate the marathon with me and it really added a downer to my experience after I was sure we had a place to eat and enjoy the match.
My advice would be to not accept reservations for these times if this is what will happen because I won't return or be recommending this establishment, you have to allow that sometimes people can genuinely be 5-10 minutes late. Nothing was done to try and rectify my experience and I was even sent a post dining survey even though I didn't...
Read moreI had a wonderful evening at CocoVail Beer Hall and wanted to share my impressions. From the moment you step in, you can feel the special atmosphere—cozy, friendly, and very lively. The interior is spacious, with long communal tables that make it feel like you're at a party with old friends, even if it's your first time here.
When it comes to beer, the selection is simply impressive! Craft beers from all over the world, ranging from classics to the most unusual flavors. The staff is very knowledgeable and happy to help you choose if you're overwhelmed by the options. It's a true paradise for beer lovers, as there's always something new and amazing to try.
Besides the beer, CocoVail offers a great menu of snacks and dishes that perfectly complement the drinks. I tried several appetizers, and they paired wonderfully with my beer choices. It's clear that they pay attention not only to the quality of the drinks but also to the food.
Another advantage is that CocoVail often hosts various events like themed nights, quizzes, or live sports broadcasts. This makes the place even more attractive, as there's always something interesting going on.
Overall, CocoVail Beer Hall is a place you want to come back to again and again. Great beer, delicious food, and an amazing atmosphere—what more could you ask for an excellent evening? I highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a good time with friends or...
