Food was amazing. Absolutely amazing. We tried different types of sushi, some gyoza, and some shrimps and it was all incredibly delicious. One problem I had was that I ordered teriyaki salmon tartar and when it got there it had literally no salmon. You can see from the pictures there's only a green layer of avocado (spoiler alert, there was no salmon underneath), and compared to the menu picture it looks different. However, it was delicious as well. That's not where my complaint is directed. For all I know, it could have been an honest mistake of the chef and honestly it was still so good even without the salmon. But when I asked the waiter about it, he apathetically tried to convince me there was salmon but maybe just a little. Whether the waiter didn't know better or had silently quit his job and couldn't care less, I don't know but I think he should listen to his customers more rather than brush it off with a poor excuse.
Bottom line: some of the best sushi you'll ever have for sure, highly recommend. This problem of mine surely was uncommon so this review is mostly directed at the restaurant staff, I do highly recommend the restaurant to anyone despite...
Read moregreat all you can eat sushi buffet for the price! 12 is a fair price for lunch buffet, especially as it includes warm dishes such as shrimps on a stick, udon noodles and gyoza. can’t say it’s authentic Japanese food tho - the servers and chefs are Chinese. they’re constantly yelling to each other, so it might not be the best place for a calm meal. when there’s more people in the restaurant they’re quite slow in bringing you your food, so don’t go if you’re in a rush and need a quick meal. still, for its price it’s alright. the sushi was mostly great- steer away from the cream cheese (it tasted funny) and the miso soup (was way sour than it normally is, I even thought it might’ve gone bad). salmon, shrimp and udon is phenomenal. google tells the wrong opening time as well- it’s open from 12:30. koyo doesn’t take reservations. +be aware that each person is required to order a drink as well when...
Read moreTried Koyo Sushi recently and honestly left pretty disappointed. The sushi itself was just okay for all you can eat, way too salty and oily, not what i had expected. The service was another low point: the servers were basically going through the motions with zero warmth, almost robotic, and came off as rude and rolled eyes when I asked for anything. The plates and utensils were not clean and there’s a minimum purchase of one drink per customer before you order your sushi.
What really rubbed me the wrong way was that every other table got an iPad to place their orders, but we were just handed a paper and pen. It felt like we were getting the “lesser” treatment for no reason, maybe because we were younger than the other customers.
The atmosphere didn’t help either it was loud, echoey, and hard to have a normal conversation without raising your voice. Not exactly the relaxed sushi night...
