Dionisos | Born — Restaurant in Barcelona

EXCELENT GREEK FOOD.

Dionisos is a Greek restaurant situated close to the Ciutadella Park. The restaurant is in El Born neighborhood, one of the most beautiful places in Barcelona. El Born takes you to another time with its narrow streets, its old buildings and the spectacular cathedral "Santa Maria del Mar". Dionisos is a big and nice restaurant with two floors where it's possible to book a table. At night there is a bar with live music in the underground floor. The cookers and a lot of waiters are Greek and the food that they prepare make you have a great Greek experience. All the plates in the menu are delicious. You shouldn't go out without eating plates like pork gyros, Musaka, Dolmades or Greek yogurt with honey. If you like lamb meat, you need to try a plate call "Gianniótiko". It's stewed lamb with aubergines and rosemary that taste great. Dionisos is a very good option for eating Greek food, I highly recommended.

Terrible customer service, I travel to Barcelona for two days only to meet my three American friends stopped by for few days. I choose this greek restaurant following the review. I've got on time, but my friends are on the way. I explained to the person was setting the tables and after he took our orders, that my friends never tried Greek food. Looking for help never found. He was cold very defensive. When we started to order I want to try meat because I can't eat pork, he responded me. We don't have meat. The dishes took long time to come. I could see my friends very uncomfortable. I didn't see them for two years.

Good food but the service … It is spacious and the cod I ate was of good quality. On the other hand, the staff was quite operational, very brief in giving responses and lacked a welcoming smile. (Perhaps too many customers and they were exhausted) They came 3 times to ask me to order before I read through the menu. I do hope that restaurants would understand all non- spanish speaking or non-greek speaking tourists need time to use google lens for translating the menu and make choices. One thing surprised me was a little insect stuck on the can of coke given to me. (I was too startled by this and did not take a photo of it!)
