It is one of the oldest plant conservation spaces in Barcelona. This historic shade greenhouse features a unique design that harmoniously combines brick and wooden structures. Designed by Josep Fontserè in 1883, it was built for the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it served as a space for displaying a variety of tropical and subtropical plants. Its semi-open structure allows for natural regulation of light and air, creating an optimal environment for plants that do not require direct sunlight. Today, it functions as a small urban garden, providing a peaceful retreat...

The Umbracle del Parc de la Ciutadella, located in Barcelona's iconic Ciutadella Park, is a hidden gem for nature lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike. This elegant, 19th-century iron and wood structure serves as a botanical garden, housing a rich variety of exotic plants in a serene and beautifully designed space. The Umbracle offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city, with its lush greenery and the soft interplay of light and shadow through the slatted roof creating a tranquil atmosphere. The other day I went to the Umbracle, a different and untypical garden of the Ciutadella Park. I think it is a very relaxing place where you can breathe well and there are many types of plants that I liked a lot. There are also several benches where you can sit and contemplate the different types of plants. And there are also some holes in the ceiling, which is for when it rains, because in this way you can use the rain water to water the plants. This building is really different from the other ones in the Park. Its esthetics is nice. I recommend going there because it is a very nice place where you can...
