A few months ago, I discovered by chance a restaurant in a neighborhood (La bonanova) where I almost never go. It's not a tapas bar (not sure that concept really exists anyway), but it's a restaurant that serves many different types of dishes, most of which can be considered tapas. That restaurant is called Racó d'Àngel. I loved it. 💙 I loved it so much that, in the following days, I recommended it to pretty much everybody I talked to. Then I went back with a friend a few weeks ago. We ordered the dishes I liked the most the first time and a few new ones. Everything was good but... nothing was wow like the first time. I don't know if I was lucky that first time, or unlucky that second time... or simply that the first time I had no expectations and this time I expected too much... 🤷♂️ Don't get me wrong, it was good, but really nothing to be remembered. Of course, the fact that all the dishes were brought together didn't help at all. The plates didn't fit on the table and the food was getting cold so we ate too fast, without enjoying what we were eating. 🥵 Apart from that, the service was good and the staff was nice. It was a bit pricey, more than the first time (about €100 for 2 adults and 2 kids), but I know that we ordered more expensive items, like the anchovies. I don't know what to think about that place now. What's certain is that I will not recommend it as much as before because they seem unreliable... 😕

Read moreI recently visited this place with high hopes of trying some classic dishes and immersing myself in the local cuisine. As an English-speaking tourist, I relied on Google Translate to communicate my order to the waiter. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular restaurant left much to be desired.
Firstly, despite my best efforts to communicate through Google Translate, the waiter did not seem to appreciate my attempts. There was a clear lack of patience and understanding, which made the ordering process frustrating and somewhat awkward.
Secondly, I was disappointed to find out that a lot of the dishes I had hoped to try, such as octopus and shrimp, were not available during my visit. While I understand that availability can vary, it would have been helpful if the restaurant had displayed an updated menu or informed me in advance.
Given these factors, I would caution other English-speaking tourists who rely on translation tools to communicate at this restaurant. The language barrier seemed to greatly hinder my ability to fully enjoy the dining experience, and the unavailability of certain dishes further added to my disappointment.
It is worth noting that this review is based on my personal experience, and others may have had different encounters. However, if you are an English-speaking tourist looking for a seamless dining experience, you may want to consider exploring other options that are more accommodating to...
Read moreI was really happy to find a place with high average score 4.6, so I decided to go there. Unfortunately this rating is not even close to what you get. I ordered menu which i cluded 3 dishes. Every dish was made in microwave'ish way. French fries were sinked in oil like they lived there since they were collected from soil as potatoes. As deswrt i had a flan - traditional spanish desert.... i tried flan in many places and this one was just terrible. Tasted like omlet...
I do not recommend this place to anyone. My girlfriend had q chicken burger which had no taste at all and looked like mix of chicken leftovers.
In spain all fruits and vegetables are rich in taste... fresh vege salad had no taste at all. Cheapest tasteless vegetables used to prepare kt and filled in with cheap 🌽
For each 3 dish course we paid 16 euro.... cheap or not... the food was terrible, not worth a single penny.
