Els Pinxus — Restaurant in Barcelona

Me and my boyfriend read the reviews here and thought it would be a great place to eat after a long day of traveling (especially since we were wanting good tapas). We walked in on a Wednesday night at around 9pm - and to their credit, they were extremely busy. We walked inside with maybe one or two tables open - and guy shook his head as to say no. I then asked what about the bar - and he said, it's possible. Right then, people walked away from the bar, and we quickly took their seats ( interesting to note that people who walked in after us sat themselves at the one open table in the area with no problems.). We waited at the bar for over 15 minutes -- looking at the amazing tapas in the glass case in front of us - while no one tended to us. Other people sitting around us at the bar were being served, getting tapas, and drinks - and we were completely ignored. Then after some time we got a waiter and asked if we could just have some beer while we waited. He said sure. Another 15 minutes - and we still had no drinks. Meanwhile, several people (at least 3 groups) had come in after us at the bar area and were already being served (given menus, drinks, and getting tapas directly from the man who was making them in front of us the whole time! Yes, this might be a great hole in the wall - but we were completely ignored for 45 minutes - and never even given a drink - while others around us were being served. Maybe it's because we weren't locals? Maybe because it was a busy night (still no excuse for such bad service), or maybe my Spanish wasn't good enough for them. After 45 minutes, it was good enough for me to tell him we'd be leaving and don't worry about the beer as we walked out. ...

the food at lunch today was ok and the service, when it finally started properly, was prompt. Just a detail; probably because we were right at the back and there wasn't much 4G we couldn't download the menu from the QR code, so we asked for the password for the wifi but still had problems and so then asked for a normal menu, the young man said we could have normal menus but how strange we were having problems with the QR code route to the menu. Were we sure we were logged onto the wifi? We were sure. So he takes out his phone and shows us how easily and quickly he can make the menu appear. And when we looked at our phones the menu had finally appeared on our phones. All of this took about 15 minutes from start to finish. It was not a pleasant experience. The young man concerned was very polite and had excellent intentions but I suggest that the next time a customer asks for the normal menu the best thing to do would be just to get ...

AMAZING FOOD! With plenty of vegetarian options. Everything was delicious. The kitchen closes at 11 pm, and since I was rushing at 10:30 to get there, I called and placed the order by phone. Pedro was so helpful and calm, he took the time and explained everything as if I were ordering in person. He even advised me that the food would be enough for both of us (we’re Cypriots, so we tend to over-order 😅😂). Of course, he was right… but we ordered extra anyway.
