I recently visited Brunells, an old bakery in Barcelona, known for its famous croissants. I was quite excited to try their butter croissant as I am a big fan of croissants and always love trying them in new places. However, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with my experience.

While the store itself is impressive with its old-style decor, I found that the croissant I ordered was not fresh and lacked that rich, buttery flavor that I was expecting. For me, a croissant needs to have that perfect balance of flakiness and buttery goodness, but unfortunately, this one missed the mark.

It's a shame because Brunells has a long history in Barcelona and was a beloved local landmark until it closed down in 2018. While it's great to see that big-name specialty shops helped to reopen the bakery in 2020 and give it a facelift, I think the quality of the croissants could be improved.

Overall, while the store's history and decor are impressive, the butter croissant I tried did not live up to my expectations. I would recommend trying other pastries at Brunells, but if you're a die-hard croissant fan like me, you may want to look elsewhere. Therefore, I am giving Brunells a 2-star review based on...

First of all, the pistachio croissant was quite nice, in which the fillings inside is very delicious!

However, we are not satisfied with the experience of the customer service. We wanted to get two croissants which is one pistachio and the festive edition sant jordi croissant. But the girl that took our order only heard we wanted to get one pistachio and got us just one.

That’s totally fine, so we asked her to get one sant jordi croissant for us, we paid and take away both of them. After that we realised that she got us two pistachio croissants instead ?!???

We specify the croissants that we wanted for twice but she did not even get it right. And she was giving some attitude to us as well, which I don’t think this is acceptable. It is not packed at all at the moment. We were so annoyed that we could not try the other flavour to be honest. So hopefully they can improve the customer service here.

I went to quite a lot of restaurants and places in Barcelona, and this is one and only place that I received a bad...
