Forn Jaume Montserrat — Restaurant in Barcelona

This review is long overdue, but I must add you can’t truly appreciate an experience until you miss it. Forn J. Monserrat is the only bakery I know where scratch-made bread meets authenticity, history, and family. This bakery has definitely been around for at least a century and the original family still runs and manages it. The experience of visiting something so authentic made me feel special. I was invited to try some tiny chocolate dipped croissants by the sweetest and kindest soul, Sandra. The tiny warm croissants just melted in my mouth. They were amazing! Besides that, the family sells several other varieties of scratch-made breads with recipes that have literally been handed down over the years! Authenticity is invaluable, and you can see that every year when the lines wrap around the building and down the street during Kings day for their authentic king's bread (Rosca de Reyes). Sóc del barri i he freqüentat aquest forn des de petit. He estat un bon i fidel client durant anys, però avui s'ha acabat. Avui m'han enredat per segona vegada en poc temps. La primera va ser al gener: Vaig comprar un petit tortell de reis. Vaig pagar i vaig agafar el ticket de caixa, però no el vaig mirar per confiança. A l'arribar a casa vaig veure que amb el tortell, m'havien cobrat una aigua que no vaig demanar i que no em van donar. La segona ha estat avui: He comprat bunyols i els he demanat tots ebris. Al taulell hi tenen a una banda els ebris, amb la seva etiqueta dient que són els ebris, i al costat els sobris també amb la seva etiqueta. La dependenta ha posat uns quants ebris i després ha afegit dels de la banda dels sobris. Li he dit que no, que els volia ebris, i m'ha dit que eren els mateixos i que eren ebris. He insistit i m'ha assegurat que eren ebris. Doncs a l'arribar a casa ens hem adonat que ens ha enredat!!! Els primers que ha posat i què eren als fons de la bossa de paper eren ebris, i els de dalt que ha agafat de la zona dels sobris eren sobris. A mi no em torneu a enredar! Ja no tornarem més. We are so delighted with this bakery that we are dreaming with croissants, apple pies and Coca de Llordons. The apple pie was a gastronomic orgasm! We have to recommend this bakery as the best...
