I had a wonderful experience at this rooftop restaurant in Barcelona, and I’m excited to share my thoughts after dining there today. The restaurant boasts an incredible location with a breathtaking view of the Sagrada Família.
We tried several dishes, starting with a plate of crispy fried potatoes topped with a tangy tomato-based bravas sauce and a dollop of creamy aioli. The balance of flavors was spot on—the potatoes were perfectly golden and crunchy, while the sauces added a zesty kick that made every bite satisfying. Next, we had a small pan of fried eggs mixed with tender slices of jamón ibérico. The ham brought a savory depth that felt indulgent yet comforting. I also ordered a seafood paella though it isn’t called that on the menu, which came loaded with plump shrimps.
The ambience of the restaurant was just as impressive as the food. Being on a rooftop, the space felt open and airy, with plenty of natural light pouring in. The view of the Sagrada Família was absolutely stunning—I could see its iconic spires framed against a backdrop of fluffy clouds and a bright blue sky. It made the meal feel special, almost like dining in a postcard. The restaurant itself was tastefully decorated with simple, modern touches, and the tables were spaced out enough to give a sense of privacy while still capturing the lively buzz of a popular spot. The overall vibe was relaxed yet sophisticated, perfect for a leisurely lunch while taking in the...
Read moreThis rooftop is on the top of the barcelona renaissance hotel. They offer splendid views of barcelona. The service was super slow and also it was dirty. Tables were not clean, floor sticky, bathroom unattended. The first night I stayed in the hotel, I wanted a bottle of wine and the smoked pineapple. It took nearly an hour for the pineapple to come up. basically the problem is staffing. They're understaffed, and all of the food is coming from the bottom floor not the top floor where the actual space is. The next night, they were closed for employee function. So we didn't have access, which was disappointing considering the reason why I wanted to get this hotel was because of the rooftop, but we didn't have access both days. Now, the hotel is awesome. If you want to stay at the hotel do so, but do not rely on this restaurant for your dining needs. I would definitely go somewhere else. Finally, the views are breathtaking and it should be a really great place to hang out. But with the way that the service went, it was very disappointing. I'm giving them 3 stars, because the pineapple actually was good once we got it and the servers were very apologetic. And honestly, I know that it wasn't their fault. It was the kitchen...
Read moreBeautiful rooftop with a great vibe and drinks, but unfortunately the service was a major letdown. Although they mention closing at midnight with last orders at 11:30 PM, we were told at 11:20 that cocktails were no longer being made and only simple drinks could be ordered. We tried to reorder at 11:25, we were told the bar was closed—despite it still being within the stated time.
To make matters worse, at 11:40 we saw the bartender pouring a glass of wine (a "simple drink"), and when we asked about it, we were brushed off with a “tough luck” response, saying it was pre-ordered.
Kevin Lorenzo, our waiter, was very rude, didn’t seem properly trained in customer service, and the inconsistency in what we were told was frustrating. It's a shame because the place itself is lovely, but the service left a...
