Had a bad experience here- disappointing since I had high expectations. Long line- the poor barista was also operating the cash register so she had a lot on her plate and it made sense why things took so long. I was sympathetic to this plus the flat white that she made was delicious. The Mediterranean eggs Benedict however was when our experience got really bad. The poached eggs had translucent + runny whites. I do like the yolk runny but having the whole egg be raw is unacceptable. When we told the waitress about how the egg was inedible, she said she “could ask the kitchen if they could remake it, but they would probably say no” – what a weird way to respond. She also insisted that the eggs were normal and how poached eggs were supposed to be made. I beg to differ, especially since I work at a brunch place as a server and know exactly how poached eggs should be made. Her attitude throughout was really bizarre. Then she came back to us and said that they would be able to remake it. After waiting 20 minutes, she brought out two poached eggs- where one was completely hard and the other one was still soft with runny whites. So she didn’t bring out a fully remade one, just the poached eggs- so that the sourdough toast still had the runny egg whites soaked into it and was cold at that point. When she came back to check in on us 10 minutes later, she asked how things were and we said politely that honestly we still didn’t like it. It genuinely just tasted bad in general. she then offered to get us another coffee or something different (she almost slightly redeemed herself) but we just wanted to get out of there at that point. Then we went to use the washroom before leaving and my mom was waiting for me in the lobby- and three times the waitress came to my mom and said that my mom couldn’t stand where she was standing in the general space. Just really bizarre since she was just standing next to a window and not anyone’s way, so why did she care and feel that she needed to say something when my mom just had to wait 30 seconds for me to wash my hands. So to summarize, bad food and bad service by the host/waitress. But good coffee from the barista and I sympathize with her for having too much...
Read moreFood is delicious though here comes the BUT: I hope they take my feedback serious. If yes, they could save money, their costumers time and would satisfy their costumers. Please optimise your order process ( for example: two queues, one for people ordering as usual and another queue for online orders, who have pre-ordered. My girlfriend waited like 40 minutes in that damn queue and then they wanted to tell her that breakfast was not available anymore... because she was waiting so long, Eventhough we pre-ordered on the app obviously. We did get our breakfast, but still, she had to argue with them...
Soo generally: Staff seems over-worked, and their order process leaves a lot to be desired.. You can order online on the app but you still have to queue with everyone else that means: If you ordered on the app, they only need to scan your code (you pay on the apl) but you have to wait with people who don't know what they want and it takes ages!!! Soo the whole order online thing is missing the point. Furthermore, if you go there on you own, you can't occupy a table, because you need to queue, meaning, you order something to eat there to sit down in the restaurant but then you might not have a spot to sit down and eat. This sucks.
Otherwise, the food is kinda awesome though pricy. I would give this place 5 STARS, if it weren't for their ineffective ordering process. It really needs to be addressed. I urge everyone to try their breaki: avocado toast with tahini sauce and order a flat white. Coffee tastes good too here. Though, you should have enough time on your hands and don't be too hungry, as it could take up to an hour until you are actually digging in. EDIT: Honest greens responded in a very friendly way, which is why I gave 5 stars as the food is awesome and their costumer service response was too! Thank you very much! This is how you respond to feedback. Love it,...
Read moreIf you have an allergy, avoid this place like the plague. They do not care about your wellbeing in the slightest. I have a severe allergy to sesame, and after looking at the allergy menu I chose the piri piri chicken which did not (apparently) contain sesame. Regardless I still informed my server of my allergy. My plate was served with a salad topped with enough sesame to kill me in this life and the next. I work in hospitality and I understand that mistakes can happen so I politely asked a member of staff, Martín, to change my plate for a non-deadly one.
As I was eating I discovered around 10 sesame seeds on my plate, which was obviously the same plate with just a changed salad. Naturally, I was very frustrated at the staff’s carelessness and disregard for my safety after multiple problems. When I spoke to Martín, who informed me that this was his shop, I was only met with passive aggressive remarks that “it’s done now so there’s nothing I can do” and it was very obvious he could not care less, despite me telling him that I could have died as a result of his actions. I’ve eaten and worked at many many restaurants in my time, so allergy mistakes are not new to me, mistakes happen. A sincere apology and an acknowledgment of the situation's severity makes mistakes forgivable. But Martín spoke to me in the rudest and least empathetic manner that I have ever encountered. That’s enough internet ranting for one evening, I’m off to rant to my...
